No, there isn't. That is so strange. Why don't they "throw in" edge with their 3G phones? Maybe because customers might find out edge is fast enough?
But if I'm not mistaken one of their pc-cards does have gprs-edge-umts. Other pc-cards I saw over here have only 3G and gprs - while there's edge everywhere...

3.5G? edge is still 2.5g. only 3g is 3g as in WCDMA or UMTS....

Our data cards mainly the Novatell and Hauwie cards support all data carriers.
I know of the EDGE and GPRS card only.

Is all the talk of 3G and EDGE fruitless? I am saying it becuase of the apparently impending WiFI Max tech. It would be good if more phones had EDGE dus to it running on 2.5G as apposed to 3G so you get garunteed coverage.
What we need is a new adaptable tech that they can set up and grow with ease and increase the coverage easily with. A tech which can be adapted for the future. I feel sorry for the operators as 3G licenses in the UK at least cost them so much and hasn't really taken off due to delay, cost of development and coverage. Only now are 3G phones the size of 2.5 ones comming out in the mainstream. Hopefully with this push the coverage will increase?
Just my thoughts.

isnt it weird, that a low end fone, like z310 deserve edge support, but more advanced one not?

@boba
May SE has decided to support EDGE in their new portfolio for next year. Could be a standard feature from now on
