darrengf has said it all really SE's flagship model with the highest return rate of any SE device says a lot for a flagship model. Pages of complaints spread over numerous forums, petitions being started and even legal action being considered by some. People that have been loyal P series and SE supporters turning their backs on SE and turning to Windows and S60 devices. I am in this second category and it will be a cold day in hell before i trust SE again and buy any of there devices. They may of increased their market share but they are losing their smart phone user base at an alarming rate. IMO UIQ3 launched in its current state is the worst thing SE have ever done.

The M600I and W950I all seem to be doing fine so you can't balme it on UIQ3. Sorry but I don't believe any of this talk of it being the biggest flop.
Is this forum going downhill fast? First the apparent joke K900I thread (strange sense of humour their) and now the P990I is the biggest flop ever for SE.
I can only go by my experiance with it and from what I've read a lot of people haven't updated the firmware to the latest version. Just how many of these apparently returned P990I's are running old firmware version? I take all these posts that claim these facts from my mate who works in so and so with a HUGE pinch of salt now thanks to the joke thread.
Then again name me 1 smart phone that doesn't crash ever?

The p990i isn't really a smartphone but an PDA phone. And Nokia doesn't have that so fare. Only there bloddy Communicator.

hey im not selling it because its a flop. the phone is great, its been fine for me. only restarted couple times.
im selling it coz i change phones often
and i find that, even though many seem to think symbian provides an advantage over normal phones, doesnt give me any advantages, only wifi, but i have a pc for that.
im going back to a w850, but will get the new m600 or w950 when it comes. in between that time ill probably have 2 or 3 other phones.
so the p990i is definately not a flop in my eyes, i just wanted another change.

Size will probably be the same as what the models are now maybe just a tad thicker to accomidate the camera. Though if the samsung d900 is that thin and has 3mp, who knows, it may just be the same size...Im hoping they will be...

Of course your right all these people that are complaining and stating problems either don't know how to use it or they all work for Nokia. Get real visit some of the other Symbian forums and read what even they site owners and loyal SE supporters are saying. Please explain why this brilliant phone has the highest returns out of any SE device this was first reported by MR who has good contacts and relationships with people inside of SE.
Also explain why so many people that were long time SE supporters and users are selling there devices and lastly why the price has dropped by such a large amount so quickly as if you were right surely this would not be happening would it?
I think you will actually find there are less people that are happy with it then those that are not. But of course it's a free world well nearly and you can believe what ever you wish. It just so happens to be a fact that it has insufficient Ram to multitask as promised and it is also fact that it suffers from memory leaks that so far the firmware upgrades have failed to resolve. The developers of SMAN have been stopped in their tracks due to the memory leaks and faulty code and have informed SE of such, they were initially told the fabled week 48 firmware would resolve most of these issues but have now been told it will be week 3 of Jan before the next update. SwissManagers developers have also been able to identify many problems and if they can do it why can't SE. How anyone can claim a flagship model with the highest return rate is a success is beyond me.
