@HarvJH

Thank god for that!

Why do they have to make things so difficult for their customers - this is enough to put anyone off Orange for the rest of their lives.

And thats not just Orange either, all operators are the same. They make you go through hell and then they make you shout and scream in order to get your own way

I hav had endless problems with Orange.. I went on contrac with them in July 2006...and since then (bearing in mind its now only March 2007) i hav had 5phones...and this one is currently playing up! Ive jus been on the phone to customer services, who are trying to tell me i hav to pay a £15 admin fee...well forget it! Thats a right joke. What is the point in me paying for "orange care" every month, if i then hav to go and pay a £15 fee..for a handset of THEIRS which is faulty. It is ridiculous.
I hav spent hours upon hours on the phone to them about it-for the last phone, i spent jus over 5hours trying to get it all sorted..and even then, when i finally thought it was fixed, they screwed up!

If you hav a lot of patience, and enjoy a good argument then Orange is the company for you, but as soon as my contract runs out (DECEMBER!!!! ) then i am running as far as possible away from Orange!!!!

When you are looking for another service provider, don't bother with Vodafone if it's insurance costs that bother you! I moved from Orange for my two business phones last year, taking insurance on one of them. This costs me £6.95 per month (Orange business insurance is given free to business contracts) I damaged my phone recently and had to make a claim. Their admin or excess fee is £25.00 (orange fee is £15) I had to drive into my local town centre to a Vodafone shop to take it for repair who then sent it away and i had to return to pick it up a few days later - a total of 50 miles, (Orange delivery to the door within 24hours) To top it all, the Vodafone shop didn't have any curtesy phones, so I was left with no choice but to buy a £20 phone so I could run my business whilst my handset was being repaired. I did manage to get my £20 back when i picked up my own phone. The assistant in the Vodafone shop then told me they will be charging a £20 fee for curtesy phones from now on!!!

I will prob. be moving back to Orange when my Vodafone contract is over.

As the saying goes : the grass is always greener.......................

I was with orange for 8 years. and in the last year Orange are utter S**t.

Customer care is non exstiance. Although after ringing 10 times I did find 2 people who was quite helpful.

The retention department block my bank as they put wrong details to collect my money. and I can go on with the rest of my problems.

Im now with o2, god I thought i would never say this, but they are so helpful, people are nice and friendly, if they dont know what im asking or unsure they will go and find out. staff in the shops are nice and helpful and i needed some help with them the other day. Went into the shop explained my problem. No problems, they phoned customer care for me and sorted it out. To be honest they couldnt do enough. No once did i not feel like i wasnt improtant, I wasnt told that i cant help you need to ring cusotmer care too.

Had a problem with my Orange contract, Shop couldnt care less, no intreset., rude and ingonarant. Told me to ring cusotmer care. Customer care says the shop needs to resolve the issue.

So in the end i demanded that they ring customer care after arguing and guess what, the shop sorted it out. 45 mins later.

I know from my friends t-mobile customer care is gr8 and shops are gr8 too,

Cant really say much about voda, I dont think there brill nor i dont think there good either.

Orange used to be cutting edge, now they dont give a damm.

but just to put it into tru colours.

Orange lost 3 mil customers last year as per a website. bigest ever loss for a net work. mmmmmm so you tell me what that says.

voda also lost alot of customers but no where near as orange.

o2 and t-mobile gained 90% and rest went to other networks.

I have an ongoing fight with Orange about various things...

I generally find that second line technical help are the way ahead. Firstly, they appreciate it when you're not pissed off with 'them' and nice to them. I think also they spend the day talking through nody stuff with muppets and appreciate speaking with someone who knows what they are doing - I think most on the forum qualify

I have had most of my problems resolved by them, and also had discontinued services added. 'Oh, i'm not meant to add these, let's see if it lets me - oh it does. Well it looks like it's on your account now, any problems then just call back' That was the jist of getting unlimitted data for 8 quid a month.

At the end of the day they are a set of bastards, and as someone already mentioned, play them at their own game.

My usual final resort is to drop my service plan to the minimum (if I Have had it for long enough) and tell them I'm going to buy myself out next month. Drops the buy out from 450quid to 90quid (in my case) Funny how all of a sudden you can get an upgrade/replacement etc etc...

Anyway, glad you got it sorted in the end...

The future's Shite....
