Hi all,
Well i don't know if you have seen some of the latest W950 posts but debranding currently may be a little pointless as in the new firmware for the W950 suddenly it no longer has Bluetooth 2.0 it has changed to only Bluetooth 1.1. Why SE have done this is any ones guess as it makes no sense to me but then a lot of what SE are doing of late hasn't either.

In Response to dogmann,
I have debranded my w950i and updated it to the latest software, with no change in bluetooth functionality. If anything the connection between my HBH-DS970 has greatly improved (no more breakups in songs), The transfer of files to my computer is just as fast as before and so is the synchronisation.
As far as i am aware and i could be wrong the version of bluetooth is more of a hardware issue rather than software.
and i am not posting this to cause an argument with anybody, just to simply state my experiences.
Hope this helps!
I have obtained this from the internet:
"phones have already made the jump from version 1 to version 1.2 - albeit a smaller jump, and one that could be achieved by a software upgrade. "Version 2 requires a new radio," he admitted.

@nanu*1
Sorry i am bad it is Bluetooth 1.2 not 1.1 and this is what i have read in the W950 thread discussing it no longer has Bluettoth 2.0. This may also explain why it has been downgrded to 1.2 as many of you are now reporting much better performance with DS-970's in both range and quaility. Just why there may of been a problem with Bluetooth 2.0 and why SE has failed to communicate this fact to their customers and have just done it seems to be following SE's current trend of not communicateing with them.
