i tried it... but the "*ri#..." trick didn't work for me.

Come on. Don't try that code anymore. The *ri# code is only for sending SMS without number from ORANGE Romania network. I believe, and i think i am right, antichrist is from Romania. Correct me if i am wrong.
And yes, that code works well here, but i think that every other network cand use other code, there is nothing general about this thing.

Here in Sweden, anyway on my operator, they have ceased that function due to some youth organisations demands, it is because the harrasing / mobing threats a.s.o. Earlier we could use the prefix *HN# to send anonymous SMS.
In Swedish:
"Kan jag skicka anonyma SMS från min mobil?
Nej, möjligheten att skicka anonyma sms har tagits bort. Detta pga av att ungdomsorganisationer anser att anonyma sms-tjänster bäddar för mobbning. Borttagandet av funktionen innebär att sms skickade med prefixet *HN# är blockerad. Det innebär att dessa sms inte kommer att vidarebefordras till mottagaren. Avsändaren får inget felmeddelande och debiteras som vanligt för sms:et."

Well, as I can see operators have always used *letter1letter2# for iding numbers. Considering that I will say there are 676 (26 times 26)combinations to try to find which one works with your operator.
How much will that cost in sms ?
