Okay, this is very weird.. I have a couple of things to talk about the problem I had with my phone:

1) SE India has a very weird policy, where they don't honour the phones' warranties, if the phone has been bought out of India. i.e they accept phones with valid NATIONAL warranties only. You wouldn't believe the number of people who were yelling at the SE service center front desk, (including your truly) for this reason. SE phones are a bit cheaper outside India, and this is the way they try to penalize people who try to take advantage of it.

So back to my problem. I called SE's customer care number. They told me about their policy, and I had no choice but to accept it, and go to the service center to see what could be done.

2) When I got there this evening, my phone was miraculously cured! ON IT'S OWN! I was waiting for my turn at the service counter, and it started working!! But I didn't want to take a risk, so I turned my phone in for a check up. The guys there said it's a mother board problem, and it's going to cost me 70% of what I paid for the phone. Might as well buy a new phone. So I decided to take my chances, and if my phone conks off again, I'm going to put down some hard Indian cash, and buy a phone with National Warranty.

Thanks for all your help guys.

Hi,

I've had a similar problem, flashed using SEUS, phone froze and is now dead.
I've tried Kulankendi, and although it recognises the phone, I get this message when I try and flash it through their program.
Any idea where I go from here?
The phone worked fine before i flashed it, which is what's so annoying!
SE's own software seems responsible for the phone failure, but they've told me via email that I will be responsible for costs incurred if it proves to be a repair job as its out of warranty.
Anyway, heres what Kulankendi throws up(below) the phone is a SE P990i.
Any help would be V. much appreciated!

Thanks,
Mitres

Kulankendi sequence when flashing:

Hold 'C' or '@'-(PDA) or '2'-(W88x) key and plug DCU60 USB cable.
Phone Connected...
