@QVGA, goldenface
I agree with you both. It's true that the W900 was not a high seller, and that's what happens when a phone isn't marketed properly and isn't accessible due to price.
But I doubt it suffered 'losses', maybe it just didn't make as much money.

What I'm saying is a phone like that is fine for those who want a phone with 'everything', with 'everything' being a lot, with obvious limits, but if SE never created the K750 or W800 or K600 to sell alongside with the W900, they would've sunk a while ago.

Basically, in this market, it's too impractical to create a phone with everything in it and say that it's going to be a market hit. It won't, that'd be too simple. If so everyone would be doing it.

Perhaps making a line of 'Ultimate' phones would be good as a separate line, but not a replacement for the Cyber-shot or series. It'd never be the best seller, but a symbol of what is possible at a premium.

lol... meh nokia does the same.. my e61 doesn't have a camera, my n80 doesn't have a battery lol and my n73 doesn't have wifi... and they all cost a fotune...

you think se people mod their phones? lol go get a moto they have a new seem hack everyday and a seem editing map lol...

if you're not happy with se then leave... but please realize that every other manufacturer is doing the same thing.. all have a growth strategy that involves releasing multiple phones with slightly differnet form factor and features... n75, 76 anyone? n93 and n93i lol moto v3, v3i, v3x v3xx the list goes on and on....
dragoneye, dude, you won, you're quite right - so don't let your arguing suck: 1) e61: bad example; didn't have a camera on PURPOSE - e61i coming veryvery soon! E61 is cheap relative to what it can do and how it does what it can do. n73 - at least here - not more expensive than k800 when it came out!
2) where should adi23 leave to? russia?
@adi23, the memory argument is nonsense, what's bundled memorywise is business decision, partly by se, partly by network - better example: w550i! Great musicphone, NO expandable memory. now there's stupid - though not more stupid than than a "smartphone" like 6680 with the ram of an electric razor... i believe se didn't make the 6680, and a lot of folks bought it because it was a relatively affordable shiny thing with a big (at the time) screen...

@ Dragon Eye,

Most of the time most of what you say makes sense both here and on the other Forums but this time your logic is flawed, it is an established fact that certain company's Do not allow camera phones on their premises at all. The E61 is a business device first and foremost and suited a lot of people as it had no camera much like the SE M600 has no camera it has been built and designed for a niche market.

Now due to the popularity of this device Nokia have decided to launch a i version to satisfy those within in the market that want and like this device and are able to have a Camera, much like SE are rumoured to do with the M610 which all makes perfect sense to me at least.

But if some one could explain why the W950 has no camera when it shipped with no business apps and is a Walkman phone i would be interested to understand the logic behind this especially when it's rumoured upgrade will have a Camera.

No manufacturer is ever going to release all we want in one device we will always be left wanting more so they can sell us our next device. Maybe they should but i doubt they will, lets not forget the reason they make devices is to get our money and make profits they don't love us or even really care about us they are in business solely to take our money and make profits. Obviously they want to please us with their products so that we buy more to get the latest features and keep giving them our money.

i agree 100% with you.. and that is why i'm saying the poster above me was being absurd... he's saying SE does this.. when in fact everyone else does it for the SAME reasons you've identified...

the poster also mentioned firmware differences for cybershot and walkman... well truth be told nokia n series and e series have different firmwares as well.... (n series gallery is very different from e series and n series does not support blackberry client...) and you can't flash it on if you want to either....so why does this poster choose to impose a double standard when it comes to his evaluation?
dragoneye... You misread gibberish is all! I was mostly supporting what you were saying, just pointing out that e61 was in the given context a weak example as e 61 had no cam on purpose! I added the fact that e61i is coming soon to actually, again, support your point - or rather, your other point! Read your original post and pretend you didn't write it... The thread's about poorly equipped phones. A phone that has no camera for a reason is a bad example esp'ly if most other things are pretty good/well-equipped! (e61 didn't win all those prizes for nothing)... As to the upcoming camera version: that had been gossiped basically from before the release of e61... but in a nutshell: I'm with you on that one! just thought the "then leave" comment is unnecessary to put it mildly, and your case was clear without the flawed e61-example...
