I'm not sure, it depends on what we each think a music-phone is. By the above rule, any phone that can play midi, wav, or polyphonic ringtones is a music phone. In which case the T610 probably outsold all of them put together.
I would describe a music-phone as a device which has an enhanced ability to play and manage music files. SE has done a good job of packaging this product. No doubt there are plenty more to come.

if you compare the W series to the "other" music phone alternatives out there se easily has the best product
you should listen to other devices i won't even bring up nokia..the s40's are unusable for music imo... the s60 are respectable
moto music player is horrible and sound quality is just loud and nothing else
samsung music player is horrible as well... and again lack of bass in terms of music quality...
people may have high expectations of the W series and say it may not live up to the "W" label.. but still it's clearly the best alternative out there on a phone right now... in terms of music quality and raw performance...
in terms of north america.. we're cheap only lowend to midrange phones are targeted in our neck of the woods.. which is why the w300i and w810i have been huge successes.. anything that cost much morre won't sell unless it's a berry device...

Ah...I sorta assumed there would be enough room on the device to atleast play 15 or more tracks; I think memory capacity is also a requirement for a music phone.
The K700 ONLY JUST makes it into the music phone category on this basis, and there are probably more of them also.
But what I meant was that a phone that has decent or preferably expandable memory AND can play music is a music phone. Sure some people like a fancy interface - me, I'm happy if I can change volume and advance/retard tracks using the phone buttons while the device is locked (ie without having to de-pocket or de-belt my phone). Beyond that, I don't care if the rest of the player interface is a dogs breakfast.
The only really important factor to me is the external controls (volume, play/pause, and track advance), and of course the actual audio quality (which is king of all requirements).
