Hi all,
Well it appears the information that Bavlondon2 was given wasn't so far off the mark after all the end of the production of the P990 is coming and they are only expecting one more Firmware revision R5 and are not sure if this may be the last one. Also it is very interesting to hear how the P990 is described even now with the latest Firmware. For the full story @ My Symbian click this link

Unless I am mistaken, the info seems to come purely from a post on another forum not from

why should we take this seriously?

funny thing, i went to sonystyle store in long island nyc, asked about the p990 (which I own) and the rep told me they discontinued it. i just chuckled and walked away but now seeing this, my heart is pumping faster. they better not pull a p910.
Welcome to ESATO I have been banging on for a long time that

used early adopters of the P990i as "Beta Testers" and have been pretty much proved correct, so I would not be at all supprised if they did a P910 again.

@ Nitro Fan,
How about because some on that Forum are well connected with SE and have commented but not said it is incorrect.

Again, just because some RETAILER is discontinuing the product does not mean the product is disconntinued by the manufacturer and/or other retailers!!!
Just called SE USA, all rubbish! Nothing is disconntinued there at SE! Unless they don't tell the truth but the little retailer is....

Johan, from SE devs forum, also did not anything about the subject, and doubts it is true
but i think its a matter of time...the M series is the future AFAIK, and there will be no more P devices...

OK that makes more sense, but given I have just got my P990 working well its not welcome news!

They done it once with the p910 so why would it be out of the question with the p990?
