though this time he does have a point. its hardly a proper comparison testing a pre production unit with a mature product that has been around for more than a year and has undergone several firmware updates
I dare say even then though that the comparison will be close and wouldn't be surprised if K800 still comes out slightly better
of course, if we were to compare N95 with its real SE rival feature wise, the P990, I guess we'd know the outcome before we even started

@masseur- I do get your point. What I'm saying is I still doubt that the results would be different even with a post production model. Camera quality rarely improves greatly even after the pre-production state.

OK but the sound quality is also excellent IMO and easily tweak able as i said with the user defined equaliser settings. Especially as now i am use a quality set of headphones so the sound is even clearer and any thing a miss would be easily heard.

I need not face up to any reality. There is one for you if you think K800 is the absolute winner over N95 in photo. My take is that both phones take excellent photo. In some circumstances K800 is better but in others N95 is better. Take a look at these from some review and you can clearly see N95 is better.

all i wanted to say is that... camera wise N95 & K800 are the slight competitors at the moment... 5mp against 3mp... the real competitor is due on September.. SOFIA! funny how this time frame is like a habit from both sides (NOKIA & SE).
so for now.. the real competition that can stood up for N95 is (silly as it sounds) is K800.

Look at the focus range, bare in mind that N95 doesnt have MARCO MODE, but with that range you cant do nothing about it.
N95 also has this:
Snaps rendering algorithm. Much like other offerings by the company, this handset enjoys an original image rendering algorithm. Specifically, it picks average color for a particular area and intensifies it, in other words the handset “guesses” the color in a way and makes it more saturated and vivid. At that, it leaves out some original details along the way, but thanks to high contrast and saturated colors such pictures are more eye-candy. Nevertheless occasionally this algorithm fails, which immediately results in so-so images.
Let us delve into this matter with the help of some examples. The shot of a yellow apple on the table looks better when taken with Nokia N95, proposing more details and generally appealing looks. In its turn, Sony Ericsson K800i’s snap has fewer details, but in return its camera gives us the color closer to what we see in the real life.

and lastly
If we just abstract away from other departments of the handset and spotlight the camera alone, then it will turn out that it doesn’t look like a strong competition to relatively cheap digital compacts. For 250 USD you can get a more fetching device that will take even better shots. However, no digital camera can make calls, and that’s the sticking point. In this respect, the N95 should be regarded as a cross of various technologies. Thus if you don’t expect something out of this world from its camera and occasionally use it for small-time shots, you will be as content with the quality, as you have never been.
Speaking of handsets, Nokia N95’s camera is getting a counterpart only in September with the release of the Sofia by Sony Ericsson. Similarly-sized casing packs a number of improvements upon the previous CyberShot solutions and a big focus on music (Walkman 3.0 and this won’t be a smartphone). The two products are separated by a huge time gap, thus even in future there won’t be much sense in putting them face to face due to different positioning, price and abilities. Sony Ericsson’s solution won’t be that expensive, though it is slotted only for now-too-far-off September. There is no surprise that the magic of 5 Mpix will force most portals to figure out which one is the best snap-taker, but as to me, this will be of almost no real use.
Symbian Arena: N95 vs P990 or maybe P1000
Cam Division: N95 vs SOFIA (since its not yet in the zone, then we will rest with K800)
N95 is not boasting its camra indeed, but with some side dishes, someone has to like it.. and NOKIA knows that. thats why N95 is in the forefront of 5mp camphone/symbian era. Not really there... but inching its way...
Hope NOKIA dont pull surprises that will left SE in a dont-know-wot-hit-em situation..

The N95 may not be 'branded' specifically as a camera phone, but the fact that 5MP and Carl Zeiss is so heavily mentioned basically means that Nokia wants the N95 as its top of the range camera phone.
And in multiple reviews, the N95 has been said to have a worse camera than the K800 - very much like the N73, which was overproccessed. Too much contrast, too much saturation.
And in music, the N95 also isn't even that brilliant either. Competent, not brilliant.
I agree that it is a very technologically packed phone, but by no means is it the best in all that does.
