that issue seemes to be a little different he was trying to play a 320x240 video ona screen that could only support up to 176x220 I just want to use the full 176 220 available
actually I have played a 320x240 video on my phone it was compressed into the view area and looked muddy but besides that it worked fine

ok Ive been real busy lately with work but I got it to work.
if anyones interested first I had to rotate the video using blaze media pro then I reencoded it to it to mp4 at 176 220 res using sorenson squeeze and played it through videomaniac and it worked

actually now that I been messing with videomaniac I noticed you can use landscape mode with regular size videos using the up and down buttons while playing it

ok here is the final plan encode the video into 220 176 mp4 with sorenson squeeze (no rotating it first) change the screen size on videomaniac to 176 220 and play it like that it starts up in landscape
I assume this will also work on other phones
