@QVGA

dude, why are you comparing non smartphones and smartphones??

i am comparing SE with Nokia. now if nokia makes smartphones, no one is stopping SE from doing so

And by doing that, you're comparing non smartphones with smartphones. i dont wanna discuss this with you, you're too big a fanboy.

what is your point? i really dont get it. i am saying Nokia is far ahead in tech terms, and you're not proving me otherwise. if i was a fanboy, i wouldnt own a SE phone.

how is nokia far ahead in tech @qvga? they put the technology into the phones, so what is your point?

all companies can put wifi, gps, 5mp camera in a phone if they want to, but they dont, they dont choose to.

@qvga, become CEO of , and then tell them what to put in the phones....

That was exactly my point @qvga. Anybody can put all of that into a cellphone, just doesn't want to right now. besides, it's not like nokia has several phones on the market with all the specs.

let me tell you what N73, E60, E61, E70, E65, N93, N92, N95 have in common

most of those have 2.4'' or more 16million screen and some are at 352x418 screen res. All of them record videos at more than QCIF. Except N73 all have Wifi b/g. One has 5MP camera and GPS.

Now your turn, show me how many SE phones have those so we can all see how SE is technologically more or evenly advanced as Nokia.

At the moment Nokia got best phones when we look at the specs, but it doesn't mean that Nokia is the best mobile phone manufacturer.

I think Nokia is ahead. Because if they put the tech stuff out now, then they can learn from their mistakes, there will be an ongoing development on a large scale based on feedback from consumers. They can iron out the little bugs and add minor useful features(such as improved usablity, etc) as they go along. SE on the other hand when they hold back, won't get enough experience, so to speak.

nokia release these handsets coz they have the money too, they can afford it, even if they lose a bit of money, they still do it. For the other companies, they arent as big, so they dont/cant do what nokia does....

doesnt mean they are more technologically advanced though......

guess the only way to get a result is to get all the major phone producers together to develop one mega phone, not for mass market, just one, and see who comes up with the best.... if nokia wins, you can say they are most technologically advanced @qvga.

@qvga
you are only looking at the handsets they are producing, you are not taking into account other things, like the constraints the other companies have, one example i gave above......

You said

" SE has the technology, they just choose not to implement it into their phones......"

Sorry but that is just the biggest load of garbage i have ever heard, whether you are an SE fan or or not. The reality is SE are not putting cutting edge spec in their devices, they are still using the old 208mhz processor, still using 256k screens, still no HSDPA, still no EDGE, still WiFi b, still no VGA video recording.

One rumoured 5mega pixel dumb camera phone with a Xenon flash is hardly showing leading edge tech what ever you want to think. Although this was leading edge when the rumours first started since then Nokia have already launched one 5 meg smart phone and have already announced an 2nd and not rumoured actually announced and will launch this Year and now with a Xenon flash and be a smart phone. All those that claim the SE is going to better you will just have to wait till the SE offering arrives to state otherwise is merely guessing you can hope it is so but you can't possibly be sure.

That is the reality and why so many SE supporters are moaning at the lack of cutting edge features and to suggest that SE can but just don't want to is just ridiculous. Even Motorola have managed to out shine SE with the first non touchscreen UIQ3 device and look at the spec in that, it is seriously more advanced than SE's offerings and if they can do it why not SE.

All this concentrating on the middle to low end market may well be good for market share and profit but releasing all the same old spec's in new housings is really getting very boring and certainly not leading the way in innovation. I mean SE isn't even updating to well established technology never mind cutting edge, how different this situation is to how Ericsson used to be is clear to see and IMO is a great shame and very disappointing.

@dogmann
It's obvious that you're a fanboy, too. For the sake of God, why can't you see that all the manufacturers have the EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF TECHNOLOGY, they just choose to produce different phones - different buyers.

That was the last reply from me in this thread, I'll follow the suggestion from sanjeevjaya's signature:
"Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Later man...

In common, let me see now, just joking here right, they are all fat, bloated, overweight, laggy, somewhat over-expensive devices right at the top-end of the market place.
some actually replaced each other, one never really saw the light of day!!,
Fact of the matter is (i know some people just can't get their head round this) not EVERYBODY want's a smartphone!!
Nokia make great phone's everybody understands that, but there is never any need to belittle other manufacturers devices in order to make Nokia look good.
