No mate you can't, the age of the plate means nothing just the car age.

The law is a bloody stupid thing, as I have those plates on one of my cars and never any trouble, but that is a 1969 car.

eh?

if i get a Northern Irish number plate like BNZ 17857 i have to take it to Northern Ireland to get it MOT'd?

that's stupid! they are part of the UK!?

does this mean I am basically stuck with the silly white and yellow plates?

but i see loads of non standard plates

even saw a crossfire with black and silver plates on on the way home from work!

EDIT: part of me just wants to do it and stick 2 fingers up at the po-leece...

why you got a tax disc in it?

you don't need that!

The trouble with the tax disc is, there are so many cars that have cherished numbers, they have to show on the vehicle a duty has been paid for the age, but in this case to show it doesn't need it!

Does that make sense?????

Even I'm confused now!

There are plenty of registration plates with 617 on anyway why would you need to modify one?

If only they sold number plates to 14 year olds, that would be great.

I am not aware of any age restrictions on purchasing a registration mark!

I am thinking of selling mine separate from my car is there any way of having it valued?
