i received an mms last night!
first one in donkies years!!!
yeah a phone that works with my mac will be brill..
just need to get all my contacts off my BB onto me mac!?

first revision, but don't you think they'll put iChat on it pretty soon? In the mean time, because it keeps SMS conversations in threaded format you can carry on a conversation that way almost exactly like if you were using AIM or whatever.
http://www.apple.com/iphone/phone/ and click on "SMS" for a demo. And according to GSM Arena it does indeed handle MMS messaging. Personally I couldn't give a rat's ass about MMS when my phone handles email. What's the point of using MMS instead of email?

i expect a IM to be released later, after it's been approved and licened by apple. since you can't run 3th party apps. but maybe later some copany pais apple to a license, and realease an universal IM client

My sentiments exactly. MMS hasn't taken off as much as they hoped. Of the MMS' that people have sent, most people just send one cam picture and maybe a little text. I have maybe received one MMS where someone has actually made use of the built in Page Timing and changed the background colour.
The operators basically crippled MMS by making it too expensive thus no-one got into the habit of sending MMS, like they did with SMS. Who wants to pay £1.20 to send a 3 page MMS? How stupidly expensive.
I've always said mobile email is the way to go as there is virtually no restriction to the amount of attachments you can send. So if Apple takes MMS out of European iPhones I don't think anyone will shed many tears; its step forward.

think that's an UK issue, as a neighbour i can say most providers here use a nice MMS rating. 9ct (same price as sms)
however there are providers which do have a higher rate. But the maximum price of a mms is 50ct and minimum 9ct
