if that's true someone at SE is gonna get stabbed soon, i aint living with the space bar phone call bug, plus opera mobile will keep updating, we need to update aswell, ever scince I bought the P990, ive been getting the feeling that P990 users were beta testers for the upcoming p1 and w960, and trust me, that isnt a very nice feeling
All P990 users have been beta testers for the P990 let alone the upcomming devices! I am not sure

actualy have a structured testing proceedure in house, I can understand that its much cheaper to get the users to do it for free

the more I think we've really been sold a bunch of crap
that bunch of crap you bought,

didn't forced you to buy that phone. i bet you had the opportunity to test the phone before you bought it. you should have realized then it's not worth the money. don't blame

now that the phone sucks
I disagree, there is now way you could have tested the phone to the point you need before you buy it, no supplier would let you play with it for that long!

are responsible for supplying goods that are capable of meeting their advertised specifications if they fail to do that, it is their fault NOT the fault of the user who spent their money in good faith

how long did s60 take to debug?
how long did you give SE to debug?
how many generations of s60 products have you seen before the speed and RAM is "just" sufficient?
how many generations of products with the new UIQ should you expect from SE before most of the "glaring" issues are solved?
pleae be fair, just assume that SE works just as fast as the Nokia dudes, and the world will be a better place to live in

He was banned for a week.
Anyways, I talk to him almost daily. This R6 update was supposed to be the 'big' update and R7 being the one to clear up all the bugs and thereby ending the firmware updates for P990.
I cant see that what he did warrented a ban, we have people here who never even get a wrist slap (one seems to think he can use his position here to bully those who disagree with his view of the world!!) ares and I do not always see eye to eye but I value his presence here as he makes some good points and without doubt he knows his stuff technicaly

nitrofan, before i bought the phone, i tested it 3 times and the FIRST time i entered the media player it showed the kernl error. i had a lot of thinking if it's worth the risk or not(finally decided yes-that's why i bought it)

is responsible for supplying good that are capable of meeting their advertised specifications,
BUT it does NOT say how efficient. for example, with the first firmware, you can listen to music, can navigate the net, can talk with someone and have some programs running in the background but if i try to do that simultaneously and if i receive an error, can i blame

? no. i can do all of that but not simultaneous. the fact that this problem was solved via update, it's another story. and why are we blaming

for? for not solving all the problems, we are not having a perfect phone.
now do you agree?
ps:i know it supposed to support multitasking, but if we cannot have 10 programs open, that doesn't mean we don't have multitasking. listening to music and writing a message IS multitasking.....

Why not start an online petition?! So many users on esato that are truely dissapointed with performance. SE need to feel the pain for producing possibly the buggiest Smartphone ever.

If I sell my customers something and then try to quibble that its "working - almost" I wont keep my customers long!!
If you really belive that the customers are wrong to buy the device I wont try to change your mind.
In my world I want what I am paying for and nothing less, so I am perfectly at liberty to say when the supplier is not keeping their part of the bargain, especialy when they have had my hard earned money.

simply never tested the P990i correctly that is why they are dropping FW upgrades after such a short period they know they cant make it better
