A mate of mine got his N80 from P4U on O2 a couple of years ago and never had any problems.

As long as you get what you want written down, surely your contract is with O2 (or Vodafone or whoever) - what's the problem?

Just giving you an alternative viewpoint

I think I'm going to go for the p4u tariff on voda. I really want the n95 and no-one else can come near this tariff, even vodafone themselves (that's what worries me!)
I have enough confidence that'll I know what's what and I'll read the contract word for word first.
Does anyone have any advice on areas that they may try and screw me on, bar add ons which I don't want!
Cheers for all the advice guys!

You guys sound like you are getting screwed. In Finland, I hd the option of buying the phone outright, or have it prorated over the course of two years. In the end it cost about 450 Euro over 2 years. I have unlimited data for another 15 Euro a month. To date, this month, I have used over 159 megs. Stupid tariffs are what is killing data usage by customers. I think the phone companies are just greedy.

Not all Networks are the same T-Mobile started the trend with Web N Walk which in it's most basic form gives up to 1GB Web browsing from your handset for £7.50pm. Then going up to i think £12.50pm that allows you to use it as a modem for your computer and has up to 3GB per month.

Then 3 where the next to have a range of services from £5 to £12.50 and offer even greater services and now even Orange have Data plans that are at this sort of cost.

Only Voda and 02 are still charging absurd amounts for Data and even though Voda only recently launched their new Data tariffs they are allegedly already working on new plans.

As lets face it Data is the only real growth area left and now that both the speeds offered by the Networks and the devices we are getting are more powerful the promise of the full Internet on our mobile devices can at last become a reality. But although i have a Voda Sim there is no way i would use any data on Voda or 02.

Hey Marc,

I hear you. I was a consultant on the original D2 Mannesmann network before Vodafone bought them. Once they purchased D2, it seems that Vodafone became a network full of male organs. They are into the serious gouge the customer mode. Probably because they paid soooooo much for those 3G licenses and they have to get their money back. Customers can screw them though simply by not using data. Vodafone will be forced to lower the prices.

Mate, go for t-mobile. I got an N95 in-store on flext35 and web n walk. Costs 42.50 a month, for that you get 180quid credit, which covers cross network calls, voicemail calls, mms and texts. 20p a min for all landline and mobile calls, think voicemail is 10p a min, 1 mms any size upto 300kb is 20p and texts are 10p. These all come out of your monthly allowance. On top of that, I got 10000 offpeak mins to use weekdays between 7pm and midnight and all weekend to any landline or mobile network. Fantastic deal, this is my second flext contract I've taken out, this is for my wife, with the deals we have, we've no need for a landline. My deal I got for myself was flext 35 and web n walk, got it online and I got the online deal of the time which was 25% off line rental for the life of the contract so it costs around 32quid a month. T-mobile are doing some fantastic deals at the moment, give them a go. Oh and the handset is locked but very minimal branding on it.
