Boycott a multimillion dollar business OUT of Business?! A business that is publicly traded on various stock exchanges around the world? Childish & RIDICULOUS without proper adult thinking.
Consequences if this venture where successful.
* Not everyone likes the design of Nokia phones which more than likely of ALL the manufacturers would get the lions share of buyers on Consumer & Provider markets.
* There goes a HUGE alternative platform of 3G Radio hardware firmware solutions to Qualcomm.
* BIGGEST! : You morons - I mean this politely (nothing personal) are forgetting that the NETWORKS YOU SPEAK on your SE phones are of 4 cores ... ERICSSON, NOkia being the 2 BIGGEST worldwide with Lucent/Motorola taking 3rd/4th place with possible Nortel being the interconnect HLR/VLR backbone that MOST cellphones use. Example .... TMobile USA uses BOTH Nokia & Ericsson networks with Nortel being the backbone. Rogers Wireless here in Canada exclusively uses Ericsson with Nortel backbone. What about Great Britian, Africa, Italy, China, Belgium, and Germany? Hmmmm THINK BIG PICTURE ppl.

YOU ALL made a CHOICE to PURCHASE & STICK with the P990i or WAIT until MAGICALLY it became perfect. YOU ALL KNEW it was release some what, 5 mths after announcement?! PLEASE, you would have to be BLIND not to read that other company's where shipping devices with better features and platform design's that COULD suit you're needs. Take note that I said COULD SUIT your needs. THIS is ANOTHER choice, seeing that your not willing to sacrifice switching then your forcing your OWN HAND to lead up till now. HOW MANY threads on ESATO alone talk about new firmware release on the P990i & what was resolved or NOT RESOLVED!
HUMANS are NOT perfect we ALL have our flaws & devices, so it should follow that the machines & components we build will, and what THEY build will be IMPERFECT!
I'm sure MANY here switch a phone every 4 mths are LESS because they DON"T wish to heavily compromise what they get in ONE phone than what they will get or loose switching to another. You ALL know that SE is the ONLY major UIQ3 platform manufacturer/Licensee/Developer worldwide. Motorola until the RokrZ8 hasn't released an UIQ3 device in ages even if they ever have?
OK rant over, but I'm sorry seeing ppl complain about the results of a buggy phone and mentioning about boycotting a company over buggy firmware when nobody has died or suffered bodily harm is a JOKE! PPL are freaking starving BEGGING for money to even get 1/100TH the cost in WEEKS BEGGING efforts to feed themselves. CHILDREN are DIEING over AIDS withotu even having any intercourse their born that way, or of malaria. ALL while a nation of billions stuffs their BELLY's even though their still hungry.
GROW UP, ENJOY your life, SELL your P990i you will STILL probably get 1/3 to 1/2 what you originally paid for it to someone that wishes to live with the issues and CHOOSE to go to a more stable platform/dumb phone, or look at other OS alternatives, implementations or take an initial chance on a P1i!
You boycott a government allowing genocide to happen.
You boycott a bus that forces one race to sit at the back due to RACISM.
You boycott a flag that represents racism and allows the rememberance of the horrible treatment of a race believing their inferior & that flags ability to allow a repeat of history that shouldn't happen.
You boycott a government that practiced slavery of ANY race and MAKE them pay reparations.
You boycott nations LACK of action to ship non-parishable and protien/vitamin/mineral rich foods to help those in 3rd world nations that NEED it because their agriculture CANNOT be cultivated.

There are better things to use or complain about than boycotting a manufacturer because they TRIED endlessly to FIX multiple issues to an unsatiable audience/clientele. I would agree to a petition to have SE purchase BACK owners of P990i's phones at FAIR MARKET VALUE towards a cost of an Introductory LOW PRICING offer of a P1i - and paid for shipments for service for 3mths to ORIGINAL SWAP P1 (from P990 above suggestion in my post) to official SE service centers! I'll agree to THAT as I agree that SE RUSHED this phone out that gate non-fully tested for flaws.
The idea in the above paragraph is to make the COMPANY PAY for the coffers they currently have due to YOU PAYING to FILL those coffers. Trust me they CAN afford to do this - they've made interest over millions.
What say you all to THIS>

all i say, i'm dissappointed with SE, my k700 was less than a mobile phone, my P990i was a blood sucking mobile-phone n even my k810 sometimes fails 2 detect my m2 card......turns out im using WM for now.....
wont think of getting P1 at firt release, its price will drop dramatically!

as for me being a P990i user i dont have any prob with the phone
i dont use so many apps and i just re boot the phone when i wake up in the morning so its good for the day and i have not updated to R6 yet

i was nokia fan boy back in the 5110 3210, 3310 era....
K810 is just my 2nd SE phone after K750... had some troubles at start... but man! there are alot of support coming from all directions with regards to this gadget.
and im good about it... so! count me out of this thread.. i aint gonna vote?!

still doin good as far as marketing is concern.

why not teach SE a lesson than be so vicious to wish it to die. SE has become so arrogant these few years because ot their success. Why dont you do this. Dont buy a SE for your next phone and let SE have a reality check (when their sales plunged). Then they will know how to listen and treat their customers well. (this was what happened to nokia a few years back and now you can see a change for the better)
