Maybe I am missing something here. What is the big problem with charging a battery everyday? Is this something taboo, against the rules, a violation of battery etiquette? So what if you have to charge the battery everyday, or a bit less. You have the option, charge it, or don't charge it. To simply whine and complain about it is borderline childish. Nokia doesn't make batteries. They buy them just like everyone else. The N95 can last more than 24 hours without the temptation to play with the GPS all day, or to have the camera up and running all day. A little common sense is in order. Turn off all unused apps, start with Worldmate, and just use the phone as normal.

BTW, a second battery costs about 25 Euro.

Hey don`t get me wrong, i ain`t complaining at all... I love N95 in all aspects (except slider). Battery life doesnt bother me. I think it is the case with all gadgets on power usage, ain`t it?

im assuming you didnt read my psot properly it barely last me a day, wait not barely, it doesnt last the day. I was out yesterday, went flat on me. Im not saying the n95 is a bad phone, but the battery is shocking!

I know i can get a spare battery, but then id have to get a desktop charger or soemthing to charge it. I dont want to have to keep going to my phone once one battery has charged and put the other in.

Its not a lot to do, but its a hassle. As i said, i was out yesterday, and it died. Had no where to charge it.

I dont think i should need to buy another battery for a phone which should have sufficient battery life to begin with. Yes, it was going to be hard doing so with all the features. But still, doesnt last me a day, come on! Maybe mine has a problem

I am considering the p1 now, or perhaps i will go out and buy a battery today. Those with 2 batteries, Masseur, how do you charge them? Do you charge one, then when its done, charge the other? if so, thats a hassle, doing it through the night, and not get a chance to charge the other one coz your are sleeping

Sorry, but that is a really ignorant response. Not everyone sits in an office/home/car all day with ready access to power. It really defeats the purpose of having a mobile phone if it has to be charged during the day. What good is a "mobile" phone that can't last a day? What good is it in an emergency? What good is it if you get caught somewhere unexpected and can't charge your phone. If you have to charge it during the day then there is obviously a period of time you can't be on the move - a bit restrictive. Really, a phone should be able to easily last all day without charge. I may not be overlly satisfied with my K800 but at least the battery will last all day despite the heaviest use I have thrown at it.

If your per-day use of wifi at 1/2hr, listen to music 1hr, calls 30mins, PIMs 1hr, some photos then you battery should last at least 30hrs. If you dont get this somehow either your battery is screwed or you have battery sucking apps running in background.



But your K800 dont do WIFI or GPS or 5MP or VGA@30fps. No phone can last all day surfing the web with wifi. Aren't you expecting the impossible?

There is a word. Preparation. You can find it at: http://www.dictionary.com. I read about the battery life of the N95 and thought: "well, if I want this phone, I better figure out how to best (here's that word again) PREPARE for it. I bought a car chager, and an extra battey. I swap batteries. One is always charged while the other is in use. I have a Solio: http://www.solio.com, that I use in a pinch. Total cost was about $90 and ZERO, POINT, ZERO complaints.

As Mib said, find a camera that does what the N95 does and then compare battery life based on a 950mAh battery.

Without this thing going thermo-nuclear, the bottom line is clear. either you can: use the phone, and get the stuff you need, or you can sell it and get something else. You can also contact Nokia (they know, they know, they know) about the battery issue. You can take a chance on an extended battery that might damage your phone. At the end of the day you have some options. They might not be what you want, but they are there.
