Interesting. What was it about the phone that makes you say this then??
Cos - I think it's pretty certain the W960i won't be released next month. If it's down as Q4 then the earliest we can expect it should be October with December as the worst case scenario.

yeah, really hard to match online deals though.
it's a tough one to call though, i've been in the situation aswell.. i've been thinking of getting the P1i, but the phone i really want is the T650i, so i'm sitting it out...

A friend of mine works at sony ericsson norway and he and his boss was into my shop last week. First time i meet her. Anyway they know who i am, sonyericsson-man
and i asked if she has something interresting with here, like a K850. She said now and said, but i have this and it was a nice and shine W960, really really nice. It also work but didn't had the 8 GB memory yet. They touch screen wasn't deeped down like the p1i and i like it much better to touch on the screen.

I wonder if it will be possible to flash a P1i with W960 firmware, like previously possible with the K750 to walkman phone (forgot which one exactlyl)..... but we're talking a whole different thread alltogether... might just start one up to get the speculations going.

I went to a local o2 shop today to have a play with the P1i & really see what its made of and guess what?.....
THEY DONT HAVE ANY IN STORE OR KNOW WHEN THEY GETTING THEM !!
When i told the sales guy they are selling on o2's website he said yeah i know but we aint got them...he looked like he wanted to cry lol
Anyways nice waste of time that was eh.
So...is there any new P1i owners out there REALLY happy with there new sexy phone or are you starting to think you should have waited for the w960i?
also i called SE to try and get some kind of release date out of them for w960i and all i got was Q4...yeah tell me something we dont know lol
apparently it will be the end of Q4...but then again according to there site P1i is being released september

in the huge rumer thread, m-one stated that W960i will be released in december, and he said ( i'm sure ) so it depend now on how sure he is, and is his source trusted that much or not

hmmm, read this on yourmobilephonereviews.co.uk and thought id post it, no idea on how good this source is BUT if its true then what does this mean for UK release?

For all you people who want to know when this is releasing. I know that the W960i will come in the market on the 12th of August 2007, well at least in Dubai it will. I can't wait to go buy it! . I was going to wait for the iphone but I rather wait for the 2nd generation iphone.
update: also just seen this to confuse matters lol
Sony Ericsson announced the new Symbian UIQ 3 Walkman handset on June 14th. It should be available in Q4 2007, but Sony Ericsson didn't provide accurate information. Now someone has called to Sony Ericsson rep and according to the caller Sony Ericsson W960i UMTS handset will be available in October rather than December as had been previously thought.

Whilst strolling through the metrop today I decided to wander into The Carphonewarehouse for a gander. I enquired as to when the W960i would be available and the girl I spoke with said October, adding that this is what the SE rep had told her. As luck would have it the SE rep was still there and she confirmed this with him. So it looks like the W960i will be available in October rather than December as had been previously thought.
