There are a few other things that SMP tells us:
Model Number: 503DE69F
Machine UID: xxxxx285
Country Code: 44 (This probably means my P990 is the same as those meant for the UK market, even though TR/RU is written on the box)

Or this info is being taken fm the installed language or the time zone.
Is yours UK English and tz set to Ankara (like mine) ?

I only came up with this Ram/Rom because I checked first if the 2 phones I have, have identical model/etc. numbers. They do!
So forget about this and check into the Ram/Rom issue, as long as we are talking about phones Made in France!!!
So far the only one is the Orange branded that has even 61(!) to 2 .
I really want to know what this ROM is needed for!!!
On the other side, I am hoping for someone other then Netherland that has 61/3!
It seems that all world1 have only 59MB of ram. Kind of pathetic if SE could have given us 61 instead!

I guess it the amounts has to do with the firmware _version_, not the CDA. No comment I've seen in this thread proves otherwise... ROM (usually) stands for Read Only Memory, so I guess it holds some firmware stuff. I can't understand why it seems to share the RAM chips (I.E. the fact that ROM + RAM = 64 MB), though. A wild guess is that the system call used for the ROM size in SMP actually returns something else, like system critical RAM or something. (Lisa, if you see this, what is your view on that comment?)

If you have read my former postings you know that I have proven it IS fw/cda depending!
I flashed Netherland which obviously has a different CDA and currently older fw and now I have the 61RAM.
So let's wait for someone's statement of knowlede not guessing, what this ROM has to do with the phones performance.
And Lisa already stated that this is as described earlier. If this ROM would have any relation to what you were just guessing, she would most likely has said so. She should know if what SMP shows is true value.

I think GW1 has the most number of languages, so that could be the reason why it took up to 5mb of ROM.
I have GW1, and it's 59/5. Phone made in China.
