I have the R1A version like yours...
I've tryed to reset it without success with the method described in the manual.
First step - poweron button 5s for pairing (Fine it work)
2nd step - poweroff + call manager button, has never worked.

that method used to work for me in the past, but now......well at least you are able to switch it on...you know.

uh me foolish,i'd never noticed this before,my ds970 has that printed sony ericsson limited warranty, good quality print indeed,so it IS original...
but unfortunatly i didn't purchase it from a SE dealer(there aren't any here at all)to have a valid warranty...and i have no purchase proof...

finally tomorrow i'm gonna post it to my mom who currently is in Sweden...i wish i would have the device in hand again after about 2 weeks...and i wish it doesn't cost too much too.

Have you try to charge your DS970 ?

That was the only manner for me to "reset" it when it was stuck in power on mode (sony ericson logo didn't turn off and consumed battery).

Maybe check your contact on the AC plug (they are so small)

I've charged mine during 8h (recommended in the manual for the first time). When I've disconnected the charger, I was able to power it on.
I've seen that I had to push the power button hard, since there should be bad contact.

well , it has been 4 days that the device is fixed.....by it self, weird indeed.

but the strange thing is,while i reckon it was humadity that caused the problem, that why it took so long to be fixed???

after all,i'm so glad, and i really hope that the problem never come back again.

Hi!!

I've been using the HBH-DS 970 since February this year without any problems. A couple of days ago, since the power was low (not completely low) I plugged in the charger to charge it. The headset was off at this time. First of all, there was no charging indication on the unit and next, when I tried to power it on, it does not come on at all. The charger is working fine. I took it to the SE people here in india and they can't do anything. Does anyone have any ideas??

@ Radeep . clean your bluetooth's charging point with eraser . and then try it again . move the charger pin lil bit . it should show charging indicator .
