Have you tried formating the memory stick on the P990?

I don't think so. My Sandisk card is Made in China whereas my Sony card is Made in Japan!

@feel - TRY usin' different memory stick with your P990i matey. If the problem still occurs, I guess it's the fone and NOT the card . . . as much as possible get ONLY original memory cards at reputable Sony shops . . . don't get it in an auction site as possiblities of returning it is soooooooooooo SLIM ! Don't MIND the price - $$$$ much as it (card) will be used for a looong period of time . . .
