I agree. Paying under a tenner for a contract isn't going to get you a lot. While O2 are probably the worst company at keeping track of how much they give their customers, that's taking the piss and they know it.

O2 appear to be much tighter this year than all previous years - they seem happy to give you the online deals but nothing much else. In previous years they always tried to shaft you initially by making you pay more than the new customer tariffs, but you also got the chance to shaft them if you haggled hard enough

When I were with O2, the first year I started with a free K700i on 50 mins and 500 texts for £19 a month (the cheapest tariff I could find then when I started uni).
The second year I managed to brag my way onto £25 a month for 500 mins and 400 texts with a free K750i. The K750i was free because the last 3 months spend was around £60 each month cos I used wap a lot.
During that tariff, I got a Job where we got T-mobs advantage plan as a benefit, so when the contract ended I immediately called up to cancel it (They were also starting to charge me the full £35 a month for it).
O2 - 'Can I ask why do you want to leave O2?'
Me - 'I get 50% off my line rental for life with t-mobile as an employment benefit'
O2 - No comment, disconnected me immediately XD
I guessed they couldnt match it hehe.

in all honesty that doesnt sound anything special at all, utld txts is all well but no one really needs more then about 7-800. and if u go with a cashback deal such as cpw, they do the O2 18m £35 tarrif 600 mins + 500txts, for £25p/m via cashback. then o2 are offering unltd txts on that as well so thats the same deal as urs but with double the mins. loads of other deals similar to this. so urs doesnt sound anything special espcially considerin u've been with them 3 years.

Why would you want to give your K850i back after 9 months? Thats one thing I dont like about swap it.
The unlimited texts are courtesy of O2's long weekends I think. Unlimited texts on sat-mon.

Privelaged? Your the one that decided to sign to a 24 month contract when you could easilly have gotten 18 months instead. And in the UK I wouldnt go anywhere near Voda or Orange with their tariffs. O2 are the best for calls + text allowances, T-mob are second best with flext, but are the best for their data allowance. Three have really good low cost tariffs if your on a budget and some decent data allowances.
