@humph: welcome to esato!

i have a W810i that i love taking with me all the time especially outdoors, primarily for music and of course, for taking macros of whatever outside. you have a way advanced unit than mine and i'm quite jealous lol. frankly, picture-taking is not really that easy even if you have a point and shoot camera in your hands. yup, the guys are right, aside from modding your camera driver, sometimes you have to tweak some settings to get your desired result. its a digital camera anyway, so fire away and experiment. you can always delete those that do not satisfy your standards. btw, you can upload your photos in the concerned section here for all of the other guys to appreciate.

happy shooting!

Where is the photo album section? Or is it just the thread for K800i photos?

Click on the Photos link on the top right of any page. If you click on someone's username, from their profile you'll be able to find photo's they've uploaded. Mine are here.

just look at the upper right corner of your screen, mate. its right below the ESATO tagline... news, forum, phones, review, PHOTOS...

you can also try looking for the specific thread on K800 photos within the forum... enjoy your K800!

OK cool, now since this thread is finished i've got one more question to ask that's completely off topic but saves starting a new thread.

I'm in New Zealand. What is the best and cheapest way to buy an 8GB Memory Stick M2?

I can get a 4GB one from www.expansys.co.nz for $110 NZD delivered, which isn't that bad, and I can get a 2GB for $65 delivered off trademe, but I would like an 8GB to future proof myself, so I can have oodles of songs and pictures

the official SE site specifically states that the K800 could only take a maximum of 2 GB... just don't know if it could take more than that.

dear forum members who has extensive experience with K800, please help us here... thanks!

Heh. Well, my guess is that it can probably handle 4 and 8GB, but i'm not too sure I want to risk it.

When I get enough money together i'll make a decision. If it doesn't work I can always onsell it.

Hey mate I'm up in Auckland, and I was wondering was it hard installing the 2.8 camera drivers? And do you have any problems with zooming while recording a video or with BestPic? In that K800i/810i camera mod thread, I've heard some people complain about these problems.

Also, do you see a difference in photo quality etc. when you're using complete auto mode with the new drivers compared to your old ones?

Thanks mate!

Hi there,

Well now that you mention it, the zoom doesn't work in bestpic mode and also the zoom doesn't work in video mode.

But the photos seem to be better, and the pictures at night are nicer.

I'm not sure whether I will keep using custom, as I don't use zoom or zoom in video very much - and the difference in quality of shots is negotiable.
