to be honest the home page doesn't really bother me too much as i never turn my phone off and opera is always running - so it just opens on the screen i left it anyway...

So this is the deal: Yes, WebKit is far superior to Opera, which is barely maintained anymore and seems to have no future.
I presented my ideas to port WebKit to UIQ, and got some response. The general feeling is that it is not worthwhile.
