..It would probably last just about the same. Maybe a bit longer, because of the battery. (And because of less animations on the media- player.) Not really sure about just how long it would last as an mp3- player... but I was walking around with it the other day, and two hours or so playing songs at 192kbs, 44khz (on the headset), that took away somewhere just above ten percent of the battery. I have very good network coverage, so that helps - but that sort of suprised me. I thought it would drain quicker than that. I mean, somewhere between ten- fifteen hours of playback, at least? (I think mobile- review found that it stopped at seven hours or something like that when they tried it.)
Maybe it's some sort of quirk.. that the battery drains slower from 30 to 20% than from 70-60, or something of that sort..

I will have to agree with the battery draining slower once it gets down below a certain percentage. My battery managed to drop from 100 to about 55%, last night while messing around with java apps uploading, playing deleting them etc... it is currently 20% and that is after at least 2hrs worth of calls, about 20 sms messages, various bluetooth uploads/downloads, editing a few documents while on the way back home this evening, and playing a good few games of chess on the evening commute home.
All in all i would say the battery last longer in the last 50%. In response to the music question the yesturday the low battery indicator was flashing (i dont know at what % this comes on) in any case i thought i would drain the battery and i proceeded to get through about 55 songs at an average of 3min something @ 112kbps on the speaker, and also managed to watch about 5min of video before the phone switched off.
It does depend how you use it, if you are using it as a constant mp3 player sure the battery will drain quicker, but i find it hard to believe anyone would use the phone all day long as an mp3 player without some sort of breaks. I think a 7hr estimate as Nipsen pointed out would be a fair guess, although i'd happily put my money on closer to 10hrs.

I listen through A2DP Bluetooth. I assure you, battery lasts about 6 or 7 hours whereas my jabra lasts about 11 hours.
Without a2dp I reckon battery would last about 10 hours
