This was posted up in the other Iphone thread...Im considering buying one only if I can use it on other networks. I spoke to the someone in the o2 store, he said to me to avoid unlocked versions as you lose some of the features such as video voicemail! Apple also bring out updates automatically on the phone as they do with the Ipods. This feature can be turned off so it stops updating the firmware, however if it is done a number of times the phone could be locked and "unusable".

In addition, does anyone have pictures of a sim card slot on the Iphone?

Its nearly been a week and still no hack? Im only going to get the iphone if i can get around the contract, and as i can get a cheap one from o2 all im waiting for is the unlock solution.
@Superluminova i know you already have your iphone have you managed to do anything with it apart from use it as a paper weight?

How did u do that? I will also be getting mine form the o2 store. Once you unlock it to pay and go can i then just put my current o2 sim card in it?

Where did you find the info on how to unlock it?
Have you conected it to itunes since you unlocked it?
and can i still tranfer music and everything else from my mac onto my iphone if i havnt activated it?

Which means they admit that they cant unlock a UK iphone, and claim that no other website/method can.
Does this mean no hope in unocking a UK iphone, i hope not lol

however the guide is in the hackotosh forums and its free, yeh it work with my o2 online pay and go sim gprs works but not edge as thats only on monthly contracts.
yeh itunes sync still works.
