I should rename this thread the torch(LED)-debate-thread!

This is one of the main reasons why I loved my W850i and K750i. The less stuff I have to carry with me the better. In my case I use the LED light ALL THE TIME.

Basically for me it comes to less items as possible. Wallet, phone, keys. That's all I need.

My phone is ALWAYS by my side, it might as well be integrated into a part of my body. Wake up in the middle of the night, don't wanna wake up my lady or whatever, pick up phone. Bam-LED light.

Movie theater, drop something under the seat. Bam-LED light.

The torch just fits my needs, why carry two items when I can carry one. OF course this is ignoring the fact that a stand alone most always does better than a multi device (a real flashlight vs a led light). But compact as possible is my deal.

As hefty as the N95 is I shouldn't even mention compact eh?

There is a the freeware "Torch" which activates the N95 LED (in strobe). There is another which makes use of the LCD (i.e. it turns the screen on to highest brightness and make the entire screen white.

@islandprd:

Just give it a break with your moaning and whining. You make it sounds like using LED torch is a make or break functionality. Are you forgetting the GPS, VGA video rec and all other goodies that N95 is bringing you.

If you are so unhappy why force yourself to keep the N95. Just sell it and get your long-desired K850 which surpassed the N95 in every aspects that you can imagined ....except the reality.

What's your problem mib1800? You make it as if N95 is the only thing you care to know and the whole world must revolves around it So much for a broad-mind

FYI, I was responding to Marc to give him my story why I like a torch in a phone. He asked, I answered. What's wrong with that?

I and Sighup or maybe some other people share similar liking/preferences. Perhaps we share some of our experiences. What's wrong with that? Explain that

FYI, whatever I want to do with my N95 is none of your business. And tell you what, even if I were to buy 10 or 100 pieces K850 for nothing tommorow (which I dont even like), it is my money and not yours. I dont need you to tell me what to do with it. Just incase you miss this point. Get that?

And you have no right to tell people what to like and what's not! Correct?

Lol, never thought the topic totally moved in the torch direction.

You have dogmann to blame for asking the weird question. har har!

@dogmann, at 4am, most muggers/pickpockets are probably already asleep (after a long night's work hahaha) or still prepping in time for the rush hour (6am). heehee

Enjoy your torches and n95s peeps.

Yes. You are right. I am being too harsh on you. I am sorry for that. Just that you seems to having a lot of problems with N95-8G since you got it.

@Sighup

I was searching for a torch for N95 for quite sometime now. If not mistaken spot on is not compatible yet due to the diff cam driver. No succesfull torch prog for N95 yet

Temporarily you can use the java called "light", made for k800 to use in N95 (using the backlight not the led). Download at http://torchk800.matlista.se/

@mib1800

Apology accepted. No hard feeling. I know you are actually a nice guy and quite helpful. Just dont get carried away too far, seriously

I am still learning to make my N95-8 suit me better. Problems and glitches are expected. I dont mind to tell anyone that I am no expert on it and no where I'm implying that I know everything about it.

Perhaps if you dont mind I would like to ask you few more questions in the future about N95 as you seems to be quite a resourceful guy. Perhaps you know a smilies (for texting) freeware for N95? Thanks

@islandprd

there are some smilies sms app. But the receipient can only see them if they have the same app. see your pm on where to find them

@sighup

there is also Best Torch. It allows you to specify a shortcut key e.g long press the "C" key to activate the torch without need to unlock keypad.
