Could it not juat have something to do with the light sensor?
I haven't got my K800 anymore to compare but there doesn't seem to be anything wrong at all with the K850 screen.

I'm pretty sure I'm right about this, but the K850i has a "yellow tint" to the screen that makes colours somewhat warmer than the "cold" colours we see in the K800 - the colour temperatures for the K850i are a LOT different.

My cousin bought a W580 a few weeks ago and he's screen is gorgeous, brighter, sharper and nicer overall. It has a better screen overall. It has a 2mp camera but the screen is so amazing that those pics look good on the phone screen (but on pc they´re bad). I put 2 phone each other and the screen is noticeable better even my sister 8 years old would say W580 is better......geez
