I agree with you guys p800 wount be for the massmarket and therefor not generate big money for them.
Ok... I agree SE doesnt do well financially. But it is not true SE loose big money. They are quite close to breakeven. But SE doesnt have big affect on ericsson and the stock. But the success of p800 is important for ericsson. It could help the brand and it is one of the most advanced phones on the market and its applications will push the operators to invest in infrastructure. And that will affect stocks

True, SE is not the main business of Ericsson, since then, Ericsson have switch their main business by providing infrastructure and support to the operator.....that's why they're cash cow at the time and why they lose money rite now. But still SE mean a lot to Ericsson, the reason why Ericsson was so successful in infrastructure business is because of their reputation in mobile phone business. And the mobile phone market is what our ordinary ppl just able to see everyday.

You cannot compare phones like SE and NOKIA.
SE products are pure quality, and gadgets like NOKIA are mass-produces, eyecatching - and among youngsters - very popular phones.
SE will survive...p800 or not!!!

I doubt if any company may survive without successful mass production products.....see what happen to Aston Martin, Bently and Rolls Royce, if u know what i mean here.
However, I don't have any doubt Sony or Ericsson will survive independently, they are great multinational companies, but i just doubt the Joint Venture of SE....it's great in concept, but as with other joing venture, it probably won't last.....conflicts....as always, trigger the failure, wonder how the Japs and Swedish with totally different culture can work well together. I hope they'll success, but so far i can't see any yet.

is doomed (yet) but the p800 is not enough by itself. The T68i is still selling very well for an expensive model, but it's over a year old and need replacement, even if there is nothing wrong with it. I think
should consider doing a Nokia and make a "new" T300 with a new form factor to attract a few extra punters while the world is waiting for the T68 II with everything from the old one + better display, java, polyphonic ringtones etc.
I couldn't agree more with you. P800 is good device but it is not enough to save
. Its is not a device for everyone, it is very expensive and very complicated for the medium mobile user. So, I believe
should focus more on medium & low range devices in order to overcome the problem. Just like Nokia does.

Nokia is big because they sell hundreds of millions of 150 phones and do not have to rely on the sales of a 700 phone however suberb that may be. Not all people are phone-fans like us Esatoans, and 700 is a LOT of money for the vast majority of the people on this planet! SE need to come out with cheap, beautiful phones...and new, smart faceplates to correct their T300 disastrous design mistake! And I agree that Sony's only contribution to SE appears to be its deep and bulging pocket!

I am living in Romania-Arad. 3 days ago i visited some gsm shops.
No p800 phones. No t68m just t68i. I was looking 2 other E/SE models and i observe t65,t66,t200,etc. They dont have t300 on stock. However here the majority are using nokia and alcatel.
