Well i think its pointless to complaints, i think big company will not listening to small amount of complaint unless you brought it to the class action.

You all knew that the 64 MB of RAM on the P990 was limited, so saying that it's SE's fault for not being a great multitasker is stupid imo. You should have opened your eyes before buying it.

Those are very, very worrying and disappointing words to read.

I hope all they indicate is a lack of insight into the issues around the P990i (which centre around bringing a device to market which did not perform as advertised and then failing to officially acknowledge the problems or reimburse customers appropriately)

If they reflect SE's attitude to the P990 issue (and so far, we haven't seen much evidence to the contrary) one can only conclude that SE might be one of the top players in the mobile market and aiming to get even stronger, but they are also morally and ethically bankrupt.

I agree, to say that people should expect a company's product to "undeliver" when they buy it is a customer relations nightmare.

I am a customer support rep for several products of one of the largest companies in the universe and even though I am privy to the product's flaw's, it is a policy to avoid mentioning these flaws or at least be apologetic about them when someone complains.

P990 is a "smart" phone. Smart, in layman, connotes quickness in thinking. not being under-RAMed. har har har!

Also with the "big-deal" thingie. some of us spend two to three months worth of salary for devices like these. Three months of labor wasted on a brick is definitely a "biggie".

Altho I must mention that spending that amount to buy a gadget like a cellphone, on its launch time, is a bit on the not so smart alley. Well that's a lesson learned.

I do see the point when 3 or more months salary is use to buy a cellphone and it does not deliver what its claimed to, i brought the phone 10 months ago n sold it last month, i wasn't a power user just used it for sms, calls, radio, and mp3 and sometimes watching vdo

@korbindallis, since you got your P990 with R5 fw, you missed all the fun we had with fw R3 & R4. R5 was actually the first decent fw for the P990 which finally made the device usable. Until R5, I carried my P900 or K750 with me as my main phone and definitely had another alarm set up as I just couldn't trust the P990 to work properly in the morning. These are basic functions which a user would have no way of checking (and shouldn't need to check) before buying the phone. As far as I am concerned, R3 was a pre-beta firmware and the P990 should never have been made available with that fw.
After all, we had good reason to trust SE based on their excellent reputation with the P900/910. Who would have known that they would use that to scr€w over loyal SE fans.
@Bambino, I am indeed saving for my P990 replacement which I will probably get in 2009. First in line I will look at the Nokia touch screen which should be available by then

Yes...my next phone will be in 2009 too...and by then X1 and P next will be newly launched and its superior phones will be on sale from other manufacturers...after iphone a lot of them are eyeing the big ts phones, other than HTC..like nokia, samsung,lg,and even iphone2...we will have plenty of options...SE will be my last choice. After my p990 experience(SE's attitude ),am ready to try even WM...which i am sure can atleast handle calls properly.
