totally lost what thread I'm in here....

oh! I remembered...

Unless you can get a 0% APR jobby wifey, I wouldn't do it through them.. the 0% APR jobbies also mean you need to pay a balloon payment at the end of like £3k or so...

you bestest bet, would be a loan from your current employer, the bank arm of your company do a good rate on something over £8k I think it is, then you can buy the car for "cash" from the dealer and you won't need to pay £3k at the end.. it'll be all yours..

although where would you park it?

So i guess what your saying is to just get say a £10,000 loan from the bank and not touch a garage, i guess it all depends on the loan interest really. I'd park it where you parked yours, don't see why i shouldn't be able to have a car, me and mum will have to take it in turns as to who has it on the path.

I just hate the fact that people way younger than me have wheels and i haven't just because i don't have anywhere to park one, so i'm going to get something later this year, really really tempted by the Fiat 500 it is fit as. Thanks for the help on this.

yeah the bank do a 7.3% rate...

although Barclaycard and Tesco do a 6.8% on loans over £4k..

So... borrowing £10,000 from your rival, will cost you £307.11 a month over 3 years and £11,056 in total...

the quicker you pay it back the least it's going to cost you...

trimming the 3 years down to 2.5 makes it £362.66 a month, therefore £10,880 in total....

What you really want is a Mum that works at Barclays bank and can get a loan for 5%...... hehehe

I'm going to take the plunge, once i've been to NYC in July i'll get onto the bank, can't wait to have my own wheels, then i can come and visit you in Dorset, providing i purchase a tomtom.

no tomtoms!

It may cost a fair bit more but a fitted Pioneer unit will look right nicer!

Oh and used Alfas are dirt cheap, and nice, thanks to poor residuals.
The Toyota Aygo is small and cheap.. and it's Toyota, so it won't break

I like the Aygo that was the other one i was thinking off, they played football with that on Top Gear right? I do love the Fiat 500 though so it'll probably that and like fatreg it has to brand new, no MOT to worry about then.

@haynesycop
Go for the Yaris or better still a Corolla - endlessly reliable and very well built. And don't forget the Sony MEX-BT2500 A2DP headunit of course!

@fatreg
I know its moot now that your car is getting repared, but if you chose a Fiat, Citroen, VW, or Fiesta over an IS200 (even 2nd hand) you need your head read.
