Quote:2. the lack of announcement of incoming caller name through the BT kit was a negative surprise for me (of course I have it turned on in the handset and nametags are recorded on the handset). For some reason I considered this to be a sure feature.
Does anyone know for sure if this feature is correctly supported by Parrot CK3000?

Hi,
are there any news about the function with the caller name?
In german forums and also here I've read, that it's possible with the HBH-30. So why should it not work with the HCB-30? Perhaps it's depending on the firmware of the phone?
Greetings,
Sven
PS: Sorry for my bad english

Caller names are supported by the T68i, the P800 and I assume the T68 and T39. They also both work with the HBH-30, HBH-60 and HCB-30, though I must admit, I have found it intermittently stops working and starts again.

I noted that some feature set is different when using the T39 and the HBH-30 and using it with T68.
Note that you must record your voice commands TROUGH the HBH-30 in order to get it to work properly. The voice recognition will have problems with sound sounds otherwise.
When I use the HBH30 and a call comes in, I can hear the caller name in the earpiece.
I'm also answering and rejecting call successfully using the HBH-30.
But REMEMBER, record the demands trough the headset !
I have not used the Magic Word.

@dave_uk:
thanks for your answer. I think, I will buy the HCB-30. I hope, that the callers name will work on my set.
It's too bad, that the Parrot CK-3000 don't have a volume-control on the remote control. I think, otherwise I would buy the Parrot.
Greetings,
Sven

CK3000's volume is controlled through Accessories menu on your phone. And the voice tags are recorded by CK3000 are kept in its own memory. Makes sence. Two sets of tags for two different environments made through two different conduits are kept separate. And CK3000 actually announces the caller's name through your car speakers, not through your phone in your purse on the backseat of the car, as people complained.

I find it a little bit complicated to change the volume through the phone, when you are on the road.
I have now an answer von SE germany. They told me, that the HBC-30 don't support the caller's name.
I've ordered the set already, but when it really don't work I will swap it for the CK3000.

Caller names work for me with most bluetooth headsets and carkits. The trick is to use long (sometimes very long) names. When a call comes in, the BT connection is established, while at the same time the caller name is played back. So playback is over by the time the headset/carkit is ready.
Using "Name" will seem not to work, but using "Hello phone please call Name" will do.
I know, not elegant but does the trick.

I've tried the "Magic Word" once only... If I still remember correct, you have to leave "Magic Word" to "ON" (Note that this will drain the battery life quite fast... sure ensure that you charge it daily if you even intend to use it the next day). And you have to train the "Magic Word" to recognise your voice. After training the "Magic Word" for a few session, your phone should be able to recognise your voice.
Need anything else just email me.

Hi,
thanks for the trick, Athanasios.
I've got the HCB-30 today and I'm not very happy with the caller name. I can only record ca. 3 seconds voice-command for one entry. Sometimes the connect from the phone to the HCB lasts longer and you can't hear the name through the car-kit.
Now I think over if I should swap the HCB for the CK-3000. I like the remote-control of the HCB with the state-LED and the blue lighting. What do you mean? Can I give up e.g. the volume-control? Is some Parrot-User missing the comfortable adjustment of the volume? Can someone tell me something about the voice-quality? Is this similar to the HCB?
Hope, somebody can help me with the evaluation.
CU,
Sven
