Actually this doesn't affect me at all as i don't use my device to listen to Music, i prefer to use a dedicated player for much better results.

But once again that's not what SE said they said it gives more choice and it clearly doesn't as it doesn't give the user a choice at all they are forced to use the Fastport adapter. To try and claim it offers more choice is just absurd and without foundation if you only have one option there is no choice. Now if it is a better solution for most or all is a completely different discussion.

You're starting to piss me off - WHAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH USING THE ADAPTER? There are hardly any disadvantages, but quite a few advantages. I don't see any point in arguing with you, you're twisting your own words, and can't seem to understand one valid point after another.

@Mizzle and Carkitter

I am not twisting words at all that is exactly what you two are trying to do.

Lets try and stick to simple facts shall we

Other manufacturers that have a 3.5m plug and a an adapter give the user a choice.

SE that only has a FASTPORT so don't give a choice it doesn't matter what you say that can't and won't change as quite simply it's fact.

@Mizzle

Just where have i said there is a problem using an adapter? No where is the answer if that's what the users wants to do fine. But to claim only having a Fastport adapter gives more choice is wrong end of conversation one option is no choice two options offers choices. Simple really isn't it just why you can't accept a simple fact is beyond me and if that is pissing you off i have no idea why.

@Carkitter

How ever great you feel the W980 is it isn't as good as a dedicated player and is just what has that got to do with anything we are discussing anyway? I prefer a separate device my choice if you want to use a all in one fine your choice.

As for A2DP that is still currently a far inferior solution to a wired headset due to the constraints of Bluetooth and a lack of Bandwidth. It may work and even be good enough for some but it is still an inferior solution.

I use a good pair of high end headphones as it does give much better results i would never use any bundled headphones that come with any device as they are adequate at best.

Far from me twisting words you are trying to justify a Fastport as offering more choice which it doesn't as you have to use a Fastport there is no other option so there is no choice.

If there's no problem, then why don't you just walk out, instead of keeping on going and going and going?

You want to stick to facts, then you state your opinion!
You're so funny! Who made your opinion fact?
And for future rants, its an A200 platform not an A2000 platform.

So you've eliminated the phone and you've eliminated the headphones, what is left to argue about?

Exactly.
I don't want to offend anybody,
but this whole jack thing is rather a mental than a real thing. Having little adaptor is not a problem at all since you carry your headphones anyway, and having this bloody adaptor with it does not make any difference. And it's functional, instead of havind 100 holes in the device you have ONE.
And
Dogmann,
if you don't use it, maybe don't try to be everybody's advocate..
And the people whining over this horrible adaptor,
they will always whine about something OTHERS have and they don't.
I'm the musician and I do listen to music a lot,
and from my experience - no problem with any adaptor.

Well it's really a shame the 3 of you can't follow your own advice.

As i never said there was anything wrong with using an adapter and all i did was point out that SE were talking yet again more BS as they do.

The Fastport just can't and doesn't offer more choice it restricts and limits your choice to just it. Now if none of you can accept that simple fact you really are beyond all help.

Marc, open your eyes - the fastport connector can power accessories, can make use of the phone for processing, and in the case of the adapter, it makes it possible to double as a microphone - is that limiting????????????

I may add pics of the two noise cancelling headsets - the original Sony which processes itself the nc, and the SE version that uses the Fastport.

Spot the difference. I know even you can.
