> What if I don't care about 'media'
Bookmark topic
Actually I disagree, OK you admitted you a music and camera geek, I don't care. I always want music, a camera and a phone when I go out, now I have to take 3 items, whereas a phone I only had one. I personally don't notice if the media player plays songs not very well or not, I just am not that sad to listen so closely. Now the camrea. OK it may not be the best camera, but before I had my K850i and went out and I wanted to take a picture I could not with my old mobile, but with this it takes good pictures. Now again I don't care about the picture, when I look at them, I just look at them to remind me of that time, and it brings back memories, I don't care looking closely at it to see how much 'noise' etc. If the image looking at it from an average computer screen is realistic to the place where it was taken, that's all I want, and a camera phone does that. Again if the quality is descent (talking about phoning now) and I can hear the other person that's fine, why the need in greatness? I just want to know what they want to say to me. Don't get me wrong I would take a very bad quiet sound, but to have it perfect it just pointless to be blunt.
So to sum up I am happy with my phone, It does everything I bought it to do.

Well yeah it's always the best to have as much as possible options wherever you go... So be careful when buying, what phone you are going to take...

I think the whole point of this thread is that threadstarter wanted suggestions on what phones would specifically suit his needs. Not so much who does and who does not want an all-in-one phone
Hey max, thanks for the tip, that is indeed something I would consider

owned a K610 for 2 years. had clear calls, strong signal, very lightweight and compact. and it's dirt-cheap now.

Yeah but isn't the K610 a little outdated these days?

depends on definition. If it still supports GSM networks and calling and sms, I guess it's not all that outdated after all.

It's good for average users that don't want any extra high end features.

Not 'average users' of course!
It's for users who prefer to not have certain functions clotting up their phone (which is something to be said for)
Average users seems a bit degenerating in a way

K610i has 3G, so it can still be used in the future, when GSM-networks don't exist anymore, only 3G, so I wouldn't call it outdated.
Maybe as a multimedia-computer, but we're talking about
phones here, aren't we

?
Please note: I'm not against multimedia computers, love to play with them, but it have to be good phones in the first place. When someone calls and I can't see his number (because he doesn't call from his own phone, or whatever reason there might be), I must be able to recognize his voice, as is possible on landline calls. Overall quality of the mobile networks in my country is good enough to be able to expect this, so when it's not possible with a certain phone, to me, this is not a good
phone, no matter how nice it's cam or mp3 player might be.

mentioned the K610 'coz subsonik wanted to get a phone with good call quality. don't need the latest model for that feature.
