X1 is great. Anyway, I have seen some so called X2 videos on youtube and around the net. What info you have about the X2? I'm interested to know it if is real one comming or a fake.

SE hasn't released even X1 in the shops, but you can find in internet X2. You should know that at this stage X2 is not even on the drawing board in SE Corp. So there is just no way X2 in some videos to be true.

I mean that I can wait till the next WM-based phone will be released.
By the way I am interested is there any chance Sony Ericsson to add Google Android in future phones? This will be an interesting phone.

Well, there will be one eventually...
SE has always said that Xperia is not a device, it is a product line. So expect an Xperia something in the near future. What that something is, who knows? Maybe a blender or a vacuum or sunglasses.
Maybe an X1 without a keyboard. That would be the most logical next step.

If the market for high-end phones is falling, how come Apple are doing so well with the iPhone? Why is it that T-Mobile/HTC and Google announced the G1 yesterday?

Let's just hope they have a surprise up their sleeves soon for the people wanting a high end Sony Ericsson device.

Apple and Google have a different business plan to SE.

Apple have made a multimedia computer combined with a phone which takes advantage of their market leading iTunes site and the very popular App store. They're making money on several fronts.

Google are aiming squarely at Microsoft and WM while taking advantage of their Gmail, Maps and websearch features with an OS designed to put these things up front in a way no other phone OS does.

It will be good to see some more high-end devices from SE but they'll need to smarten up their act because the best devices aren't targeted to a market, they CREATE their own market - that's what the N95, iPhone and Blackberry have done, along with the K750, W800 and P800.

With devices like the X1 taking many months to develop, I would be surprised if the X2 wasn't already in development.

Regarding Android, you may like to know that there are no plans to release a device based on that platform anytime soon.

About operating system...

I thought SE should develops their own A200... Imagine if A200' successor compete with WM or Symbian...

I thought it's possible to develop A200 until it has the same capability as other smartphone os... Such as Touch UI, Office and YouTube support, etc...

Just remember Symbian and WM in early development... Limited capability, no 3rd party app...

Why don't start a new thing? Just thinks out of the box!

they have A2 platform which is not bad for 'normal' phones, they also can use Symbian/WM/other system in next devices. next system is bad idea IMO

So the X1 is not enough as a high end device?

Isn't the X1 designed by HTC?
Isn't the O/S by Microsoft?
Sure Sony Ericsson have put their own panels interface on top of WM6.1 but then so have HTC with the Touch Diamond/Touch Pro and Touch HD.

Speaking of which all of these products compete against the X1 which still isn't out yet (technically for about another 5 days and possibly more for large numbers to be available).

How does this device bring them lots of money when so much of it was designed by other companies? Royalties/licencing alone is going to eat into their margins.
It's clearly a device that they had to do to appeal to the business market who required a WM phone. Even Apple have wised up to the business sector by putting MS Exchange compatability into the iPhone 2.X software.

I'll agree that the X1 is a high end phone, but in typical fashion by the time it's available to buy it's got a lot of competition with other handsets. Don't forget this phone was announced about 7 months ago and is not likely to be available in volume until November.

I'm pleased and encouraged to read that have wised up and need to focus on high end devices again, I just hope they can sort out the execution and reduce the announce to ship lag.
