Ok. Surprises.
I decided to go get the exchange done yesterday, got caught in the rain, heavy floods everywhere (but my trusty Honda Dio never broke down
!!). I had to abort the mission.
I went to the shop today, along with my Dad (like a team). Surprisingly, the staff there were very courteous and cool. They simply offered to replace the fake M2 card and the DCU-60 with the Sony originals (in packing, with warranty) for the extra amount (INR 800 ~US$17), even made note of my address and promised to deliver the items personally at my residence by Tuesday (as Sony is closed here on Sat, Sun and on Monday because of the Diwali festival).
Let's wait and see.

Interesting turn of events.
Since I was caught up with work (I am now on off after one whole week of non stop work), my dad had gone to the shop for getting the replacements.
The dealer tried to exchange the fake M2 for a Sandisk memory card. I spoke to the guy over the phone and told him "I asked for Sony" His reply was astonishing "Sandisk IS Sony!" to which I replied "Sandisk and Sony are two different companies!" and that was all.
He refunded the money for the data cable and the M2 card, for some INR 50 (~US$1) less. Ha! I at least managed to dispose off those accessories after a month and a half!
Now, I'm going out to buy some genuine Sony accessories

You sure it was US$1 or US$10 ?
Cause in my country you can only buy a cheap fake screen protector with US$1 ?
Refunding data cable and fake M2 may give you at least US$5 ?

Ok,
I went and bought an M2 card from a Sony outlet and a DCU-60 cable from a Sony Ericsson service centre.
Finally, the genuine one!
Relieved! What an ordeal this was! But it was some learning!
Thanks to everyone!!
