Hi Guys,
The reason why most of the phones in Philippines and Hongkong has Indonesian warranty is because T68 was first launched in Indonesia, ahead of the Philippines and Hongkong and even Singapore. Some of the stalls here in Singapore say that most of their units came from Indonesia. My unit was from Indonesia as well but it's made in Sweden(Europe set). I don't have warranty too, I was too excited then kaya I don't mind kung walang warranty ang importante mapasaakin na nuong araw ding yon. Kaya kung nagkaroon ako ng problema sa unit, patay ako.
Here in Singapore the only authorized to do the upgrade of Ericsson phone, is of course Ericsson Service Center and it is definitely free of charge. S'pore T68 owners can either go to 3 Ericsson service point islandwide and main Ericsson Service Center. When I went there to upgrade my phone, they don't even bother asked me my warranty card. Why? It's an Ericsson Phone! Where else can I do upgrade?
Baka naman they just want to make money out of it. Magkano bang upgrade diyan sa atin at ano ba itong Semicon na ito? Do imported sets come with international warranty?
Doon sa mga may Indonesian warranty, perhaps you just pay for the upgrade or why don't you just go to Ericsson office, baka libre lang doon. O smile muna diyan mga pare...

i been to ericsson center.... no luck, asked me to go to smartnet (better than semicon daw)
ive talked to Mr. Rodney Gaviola and told me to go directly to smartnet and have it diagnos regarding the "wont charge fully" problem, and will have it replace if they cannot fix the T68 since it's 12 months warranty daw

if my cell is on or off, it wont charge fully

Mr Gaviola told me that indonesian warranty can go to smartnet for upgrade, but i think they will charge u a minimal fee.

they make a killing if u dont buy units from the authorized dealer, thats the marketing strategy in the phil.

SonyEricsson Philippines does not do direct sales or distribution. It is handled by their official distributors, and Semicon is one of them.

@Roberto, yung phone mo may tatak ng IDA (dating TAS) yan, so kung hindi tanggapin for warranty madaling magreklamo.

Dito sa Pinas, iba.

Arnoldc - Yung phone ko walang IDA approved kase imported daw sabi nong vendor. I got it without line hindi pa kasi naila- launched nong time na nakabili ako.

Firmware upgrades in HK, SG or MY.

The ericsson service points at those countries seem to accept units for firmware upgrade from other countries as long as you can prove that you're using an active roaming account.

Ask Stefanlim about this. He's a moderator for a Singaporean ericsson community board, but esato is better (sorry Stefan )

What can I do with my phone? Ericsson Support contact nos. 6351860/61 seems to be not working, no one answers the phone. Anyone with a good idea? I don't wanna waste more time taking a leave for my job tapos wala namang nangyayari...loosing hope...Sana naman maliwanagan ang pag-iisip ng mga Ericsson service center!

@ca_abarro

based on what dan said, looks like you will be treated better at smartnet.

just to let you know that we've found a difference about the R2B on smartnet and that of semicon. please visit the "R2A/R2B Philippines" post.

@ArnoldC

I've been to Smartnet, unfortunately they were unable to upgrade my T68 phone for some reason...my last hope lies in the hands of Semicon...

Just read the forum R2A/R2B Phil. and
I just got an Idea, my phone R1B does not contain a "Tagalog" language, just Endlish, Bhs. Indonesia and Bah. Malaysia. Maybe the SW version in Semicon is compatible with mine. It better be... The Smartnet's SW version contains the "Tagalog" language which means they have different SW...

Coz language is a country specific data...
