The best thing to do really is just go down to an Apple Store and try on a few cases to get an idea of which type you want. O2 and CPW stores have a limited selection, but it's always worth having a look in there also.

oh yeah of course, there's nothing like first hand experience. Like with that Griffin Clarify case i was telling you about, you would have never known about the problem of it scratching the back if you just went in to the shop to look at it and bought it.
Another case i've owned is the Contour Flick, basically to summarise it is a good throw-away case... comes in either black or white, allows the iPhone to be docked without removing the case. It's a plastic jobby, but doesnt offer complete protection of the silver bezel, or any protection for the bottom of the phone around the silver bezel. I really only used it as a temporary solution, and i wouldnt recommend it for long-term. It's expensive @ £20 for what you get - just literally the piece of plastic and thats it. So that would be one to avoid.
What sort of cases are you warming to, leather? Plastic? Silicone?
