But for ordinary consumers at this current era of touchscreen's ..will be impressed by the feature set on paper displayed by these 2 korean manufacturers .. that's my opinion .....
if

is going to be a profitable & strong company...i think the no. of handsets sold will ultimately matter

Think you have it bad!?!?!?! Try living in the states and waiting for the "a" version of a SE phone to come out. Still waiting for c905a, c702a, and so on...and the support here for any "i" versions is awful because they don't officially carry the phone. 30-60 days for repair center service.
SE is shooting themselves in the foot with their current system...

You are right!!!! I almost completely forgot about the US market... I am sure they have a strong reason...Its weird... Its so obvious they are not doing things right, they are perfectly aware of it.

About the a version. The carriers are not so keen in carrying non touch phones there imo. The w580 did well for its youth factor. The satio shall launch simultaneouly both places. So you see what the carriers are getting at.

SE_Dude It's not even the carriers so much. US carriers have never had the higher-end phones regardless of how well they did overseas. ATT came very close to the k850 but, decided against it at last second.
My point being about the "a" version of any Sony Ericsson phone, is that we can't purchase a phone that works optimally on our networks. I had to settle for a c905i with Edge data speeds because we still have yet to get the "a" version. It's been 8 months since the c905i release in Europe. 8 ! Thats ridiculous! no matter how you put it. Rogers in Canada has the c905a(branded) before SonyStyle or any other independent retailers in the US or Canada have the "a" version for sale.

i was gonna mention Rogers, but then I saw that C905 is STILL not out for USA! that's friggin' bonkers. Samsung and LG are getting a ton of sales from USA thanks to working closely with the carriers. SE and Nokia better change their strategy for america as it's too big a market to ignore.

Perhaps SE and Nokia thinks they should leave USA to Apple alone? Heck USA even has a city nicknamed The Big Apple...
Just a thought
