> Sony Ericsson BST-33 Battery for Satio
Bookmark topic
The Satio should be using a 1000 mAh battery (but you knew that). I'd advise against using a lower rated battery, even a 950mAh.
The phone will be pulling the same amount of power but from a lower capacity battery.
There may or may not be other (unknown) issues.

Sony Ericsson sell a 900mAh as a spare for the Satio look and see, I have even emailed them to confirm what mAh it is and yes it's a 900mAh they sell and not a 1000mAh for the Satio. A 950 mAh is better than a 900mAh

The BST-33 has three variants: 900mAh, 950mAh, and the new: 1000mAh.
Watch out a lot the forgery!

If you buy from Sony Ericsson or a reputable dealer you won't get a fake.
Sony Ericsson has no plans to sell the BST-33 1000mAh on it's own as a spare for the Satio and the whole BST-33 is just a standard.

I bought a BST-33 on ebay for 10$, they told me that is genuine and it seems genuine.
is there a way to be sure of that?

Hi everyone! I finally joined Esato after years of following the forum & have gotten alot of great info thanks to everyone willing to share their knowledge! My P990's battery was on its last legs & I went everywhere to try & get another BST-33 950mAh. Everywhere including my local SE service centre, said that SE stoped support for my P990 & if I'm lucky I might find an aftermarket one. Well I'll tell you all that at one cellphone store here in Kalamata Greece, said they had just sold the last one but would order me one within 3 days. Last week to my surprise not only was it an original SE battery but it was the BST-33 1000mAh with production date 09W33. It was ¬49 from "Germanos"! Search & you shall find.

Most of the sony ericsson non-smartphones show message "charging alien battery" when a non genuine battery is inserted... not sure about smartphones like yours....
but you can still check the battery by putting it in anotehr non smartphone sony ericsson so you can see if you get the "charging allien baterry" message. That way you will see if your battery is genuine or not.

Wow, thanks, unfortunantly I haven't got any SE that uses BST33 battery in addition to satio.
Is there someone who can confirm if this "charging alien battery" message appear also on satio?
