galaxy s is definately not without faults, actually i think ive read about more faults compared to the x10. one of the main issues is the internal memory of the galaxy. the memory they used is, well, slow! (currently anyway, perhaps a firmware update can resolve it) which causes lag once a number of apps are installed.

Slow...! ? What do you mean by slow? Slow transfer speed?

Could anybody (Galaxy Owners) confirm that Galaxy S internal memory is slow? What's the average write speed you get?

I have a Captivate (which is AT&Ts version of the Galaxy S). I get similar write speeds between the external 8GB microSD card and the internal 16GB memory. The Galaxy does suffer from random periods of lagginess. I noticed it happens a lot when background syncing my Twitter feed. I think its a low-level software/driver issue that hopefully gets fixed when Samsung releases the Froyo/Android 2.2 update.

Other than that, the phone is fantastic. Great pic quality, HD video recording, gorgeous super AMOLED screen...definately one of the faster Android phones available.

However, I am not to big on the look of the international version of the Galaxy S. Looks like a iPhone clone IMO.

I sort of agree with Goldenface, holding the X10 is a bit difficult, well for me it was difficult for the first couple of days, but after that i got used to it,it feels great in hand, the rubbery back helps quite a bit as i have the black X10, a lot easier to grip.
I cant imagine owning a white X10, i love it in black, just looks so sleek and classy with the chrome rim going around it.

No trust me the Super AMOLED screen is probably the best I have ever seen in direct sunlight. Believe me its truly the most viewable screen in sunlight and daylight. Super AMOLED is very much improved over the older type. And also I did have an x10 loved it at first until I had problems with 2 of them running the latest update too. Its not as speedy as the Galaxy I am sorry to say.

The only reason why it's slower (from my experience only when accessing Timescape and Mediascape otherwise lightning fast) and the screen isn't better and it doesn't record in HD is because of Android 1.6 where it can't utilise the full capacity of its great hardware, that's all. All that will change with 2.1 no doubt so there will be light at the end of the tunnel

I hope SE to keep the slide menu, instead of replacing it with the menu button in Android 2.1, because it's going to be something unique in the future when the rest Android 2.1 and 2.2 phones will use icon in the dockbar to open the menu.

@goldenface: Does the Black slip as often as the White one?

@MyP910: I can only resist the price, which is expensive even as now for the unlocked one.

@Tsepz_GP: So you think the black looks better and more practical than white huh?

@mode: I think it's more of a marketing strategy, so that will sell more of the Vivaz and Vivaz Pro.

@mediar: menu button on my HTC Legend does help alot, especially when you open an application and it get stuck, the menu button is your "freedom" to the homescreen! It helps alot trust me.

I've only held the white version instore but as it doesn't have the rubber back I can only imagine it to be slightly more slippery.

@goldenface: Aha ok, I've tried both in store myself and as you have said, both slips but it seems the white slips more often, although the white back cover is easier to clean up and it doesn't seem to catch dirt on the long term as the black, rubbery cover. The white is almost out of stock around here and even if I find it it's way too overpriced.

No, no, I mean the main menu, you have to slide the bottom of the home screen up to the top, instead just pushing a button ( the square icon, introduced in Android 2.0 ) in the middle of the dockbar.
