I too have been battling with the "invalid cc:. to: bcc:" issue and have only just got it working for myself.

I'm with Vodafone Australia and use iHug as my POP3 ISP so my fix may only work with this combination.

In your Email setup "outbox" settings simply tick the "smtp authentication" box and your account and username detils should autofill in the next two fields. I also have the Vodafone GPRS service selected as the "internet account" in the first tab of the account setup.

I had the same problem with error about To, Cc and Bcc fields - it was solved by supplying my wireless provider's SMTP server name in the email settings for each of my accounts. I'm using 2 POP3 emails on my p910i - one is Yahoo and Astound - I left incoming POP services as were provided by those ISPs, but for outgoing SMTP I enetered smtp.attwireless.net wich is the server for AT&T Wireless.
Email sends fine now.
