How , utterly amusing, you say you work fo 02 cs, you seem to know a lot, how about informing the people who answer the phones of your infinite knowledge.
The simple fact is that the guy who started the thread, who is no idiot, is finding it impossible to get the slightest bit of sense after 50+ phone calls.
The reality for customers, and your reaction to their plight speaks volumes of the attitudes down at o2, is very, very poor indeed, you either get a constant string of 'muppets' or an endless loop of 'press blady blah if your phone has fallen down the back seat of a Peugeot 205'.
If I have an o2 problem (lots) I have to steel myself for the 'hair ripping out in frustration', experience of ringing people who's entire knowledge of mobiles seem's to stop at putting their mums home and mobile number in the contacts.

I have recieved 10X more information about gprs/gsm/wap/settings/dns address from forums like these, than I ever have from Don'tKnow2.

CLASSIC..

'I'm having trouble using MMS on my T68i, wap gprs is fine, but I've loaded the settings for both.

'What phone is it?

Grrrrrr a T68i'

'Have you downloaded the settings? I'll send them to you!'

'I've got them!!!! for MMS and gprs wap!!!'

'Can you use the wap?'

'FFFS!!!! YES!'

'Who are you sending it to?'

'My friend on contract 02'

'It doesn't work across networks'

'Hmmm surely we are both on o2?'

What phone has he got?

well i'ts failing straight away,I hardly think it's his phone at fault.

Well try someone else on o2 with a different phone

Can you put me through to someone please!!!!!

I've spent a while thinking of the best way to reply to your post. I thought I could do a classy insult, a not so classy insult and other things besides.

But I've decided I'm not going to bother.

Your post said:
"I have recieved 10X more information about gprs/gsm/wap/settings/dns address from forums like these, than I ever have from Don'tKnow2. "

If you have done that so much, you might want to look around and see how many posts I have put here about using GPRS and MMS. Speak to people here I have helped before spouting off like a numbnuts.

If you work at BT like you say you do, you will realise that not everyone in a company is a genius. I know a bit about phones and I've been at o2 for a while now so I would say I am towards the top end of the scale at the call centre. Some people, for various reasons, are not.

I will help every customer I get as much as I can and people in my team and some outside also come to me for GPRS/MMS help. Yes, you've had a bad experience. Everyone does with different companies and they remember the bad ones more than the good ones.

There's no real need to post a 'conversation' you had. That conversation is no doubt slightly clouded in your mind and as such became a bit altered to fit (a) what you would like to think it was and (b) for comedy effect on how bad o2 is.

My attitude speaks volumes? Let me get this straight, this is the attitude of logging on here and giving out as much information as I can about the things I know?

Yeah, speaks volumes.

Well actually Jal I was having a go at Blunt who also claims to work for o2, you do put a lot of good info here, and I would be glad to get through to you, but I don't, people of your knowledge level seem to be protected by a system who main task seems to just fob people off.

I still get my half price staff discount on 02, but they won't give me GPRS!!, no great shakes it's still free on pay-go.

I explain , I am willing to PAY for the data!!, no you need a higher level contract.. ok bye-bye they get nothing.
The prices for GPRS are an utter, utter joke, it would cost me even on contract about 5 quid to surf the bbc news page via webviewer each day, how does that price relate to any other data service on the planet.........a complete joke.

And actually Jal that conversation is roughly word-for-word the one I had, but sadly not just once, I have had very similair conversations, quite often during the SAME CALL!! I'm sure there are many people here who have suffered this as well, no doubt you guys get a million and one doofheads ringing up with ludicrous faults, but when you have rung up for the 10th time and got a different answer each time, you start to doubt the competence of the people you are dealing with.

Don't start me on Cellnet charging me 3x for a Nokia communicator, thay took 900 pounds out of my account, wouldnt give it back, sent the bailiffs round, eventually gave 600 back, then took another 300 out the next month, after I had recieved an official personal phone call from the head of billings secretary , who guaranteed it would never happen again

Hi Guys, I just thought I would post a message to try and address the balance in here. I also work at o2 data support and I used to deal with dozens of the kind of queries which you mention each day.

I apologise to everyone who has received less than satisfactory Customer Support from O2, but this has been recognised and I am currently performing workshops across the business to upskill our advisers to provide world class customer service. (Jalu are you in Bury? I'll be there in a couple of weeks

Until then, please feel free to call through to O2 Data Support on 08705 860 860 opt2, opt2 or email us at o2datasupport@o2.com and we will assist you with WHATEVER your query is.

One comment I would like to make, is that one person mentions on their post that they receive much more help with set up from here than they do with o2. Where does that person think those settings came from? They had to originate from us to be correct.

If anyone would like any further help, feel free to mail me to my PERSONAL account lee.clough@o2.co.uk. I can't promise speedy responses, but I will provide accurate information.

Thank you.
