> My P800 seems to crash regularly
Bookmark topic
Did a search on overcharging, and it got back 20 or so posts - the majority were about shops overcharging customers
There was one in particular that mentioned overcharging a P800, however it was soon established that this cannot have been the case.
The problem this guy had was that his memory was full.
The latest FW release, R2F, contains a file called "slopfile.ini" which is replaced if you remove it. This essentially contains 'stuff' that uses the amount of space to run the phone - if the C: full error occurs, the phone uses the space taken up by the slopfile to run. (that's my understanding anyway).
Best bet is to leave a little space free on C:.

Yup SE recommended me not to store anything on the phone which you can have stored on the memory stick. Like programs, pictures music and such.

OK - I'm going to take you up on that challenge. I don't think I've been in to Starbucks in Selfridges in the past. I'm going to take my P800 my T68 and my T28 down there and see what happens - it would be interesting to see if (as you say) it affects some phones more than others (what network are you on btw?).
You can't beleive everything that a man in a shop tells you - Jon Morris is a well respected telecoms journo, and I'd take his word as gospel any day, but like you say it's strange that it only seems to affect SE phones.
I'll have to take my GF shopping soon - maybe this weekend maybe next, but I will try it out.

the starbucks is on the ground floor next to muji and wh smiths. sit on a sofa. let me know.
ok just spoke to the bloke in the selfridges starbucks who has a t610 and he experiences it too. and now i know why. its a wifi hotspot! but that still doesnt explain why only se phones are affected.

No, it doesn't... I doubt it's anything to do with WiFi, I've worked in a few buildings with WiFi, and I have it at home for wireless broadband. If JM is correct I expect it's a rogue transmitter doing something it shouldn't be somewhere nearby.
I've got SIMs for all 4 networks - however my P800 is locked so I can only try that with Orange.

current firmware version is R2F. upgrade to it at your local service centre and you shall almost never see the death triangle, not to mention that the upgrade comes with better bluetooth and some added features for the cam and full-screen viewers for pictures, video and Internet browser.
I have owned my p800 for 2 weeks firmware version R2D. No new apps installed. I've hardly used it and it has crashed twice meaning i've had to re-format disk and lose all the conact data i'd entered. Will upgrading to R2F really solve the problem ??

i'm running R2F but so many apps i've lost count,
i've reset mine 2 or 3 times today.
and each time its been sitting idle.
its not the upgrade cause that was 2 week ago and its only just started crashin since monday.
i've had tracker 2.0 since it was released and its been on too long for it to be that.
i've got the 128mb stick and bang all apps on that so there isnt a low memory issue. but i dont care that much cause doesnt lose any data on the fone, just a couple of seconds to reboot. me PC crsahes every half hour, and long do they take to reboot???
I'm gonna start removin the most recent apps and see if it clears.
if its one in particular i'll let folk know
