I use my phone with the flip on when I'm in the office. I find myself constantly having only one hand free at work.

When I'm out in town getting some R&R tho, I take the flip off. I really have to admit, the P800 looks way cooler with the flip off. Not everytime tho that I have both hands free.

Well as i said earlier after 5 months the novelty wears off & practicality comes first.

flip off. as some people already said, w/o the flip the p800 has a slicker profile. I took off the flip because I now have brando on it so i can freely touch the screen with a finger (=

One thing that led me to buy brando sooner than later and to remove the flip was that I noticed this minute circular scratches(?) spanning 3 rows on the screen (above, between and below the 4 - 7 key rows) which in my guess was caused by the flip with some constant pressure and maybe some minute movement applied to it. The scracthes isn't obvious to the naked eye and you have to be looking for it. (=

Of course I could have removed the flip w/o getting brando but umm i like the feeling of extra protection on the delicate screen

I can't believe people find the speed dial WITH the flip better than the speed dial WITHOUT the flip! With the flip you have to press 2 keys, "1"(or whichever position you're dialling) then "ok", without the flip, it's just one tap (with my thumb) on the face of the person I wanna call.

See.. you still have to LOOK for the face to press the virtual button.

With the physical one, you can feel the buttons.

And besides.. I have pudgy fingers

all right... you have a point!

I find that either way you use the P800 is fine... having the flip (for me) has the main advantage of easy speaker-phone activation.

Without the flip, it just looks better, and with Handy Day...the permanent wallpaper, screen lock, and full screen screensaver make my phone look like a proper communicator, rather than a smartphone.

Besides, the less 'baby blue' I have on my phone, the better!

The main thing with the P800 is that not only can you customize it with programs, and apps... you can actually change it's physical look and characterisitic!

jplacson: that is the coolest thing really - the fact that we are given the option to remove the flip in the first place. =]

Right I have now taken my flip off and will leave it that way and see hoe I get on

The flip off argument does seem to be stronger and louder than fip on so who am I to resisit the masses!

just took the flip off my p910, and i gotta tell you, it feels great! I never liked the QWERTY keypad in the first place. Nothing beats using Personal Jotter, which i advise everyone to check out. Just make a menu shortcut or asign a button it, it's the best.
