FOr those wondering why phones still don't use OEL... OEL is still new... Kodak is the first full color electronic device to use this as a view screen. AFAIK, all OEL displays fade over time (the colors won't be as vivid anymore) ... this is due to the natural decay of organic material inside, hence the name Organic EL.
I don't know if Kodak was able to solve this problem somehow... or if their screens will fade in time as well (2-3 years) and they just decided to use these screens since most people upgrade electronics in a year or so.
What I am waiting for are the really new LED screens (yup, you heard me...LED)... these are thin flexible screens... as of now, they only come in monochrome green (old PC style) but can handle video refresh rates..can be rolled up and are about as thin as film... well, maybe a bit thicker.
I am disappointed that SE doesn't use Sony's 16-bit transreflective screens...which are the best in the business (iPaqs use them btw.) I'm sure a 12-bit transreflective screen would've looked so good on the P800... and would eat less power since TR screens need far less light to be illuminated than regular LCD screens.

Clearly no problem with my Nokia Series 60 in sunlight, although the colors appear somewhat faded.
MY 7210 has this problem though -but you can still read properly, but I don't live in a desert and shadow is easy to find

just in case you really really really can't read anything.

With respect to screens, I have a Canon Digital Ixus 400 digital camera and I can see the screen perfectly in bright sunlight....
