Maybe I don't know the difference between an authorised dealer and an unauthorised dealer. But these electronic shops along the streets in Mong Kok are generally fine. You DO get a manufacturers warranty (yes, most likely invalid overseas) The T68 I bought came with a year warranty on the phone and the battery, and 6 months on the charger.

These underground shops full of smoke, and markets where they are selling phones out of cardboard boxes are the dodgy places.. but that is obvious. Buying a phone here you know you are buying a 2nd hand of stolen one.

first of all i dont live in HK, i live across the boarder in ShenZhen CH.

My comment was towards the other individual who IS from HK. The perils of buying parallel-imported phones are well documented on various HK websites, with some semi-effective consumer counter-measures.

All phones sold in HK are unlocked.

For more "reliable" parallel imports http://board.phonehk.com/viewtopic.php?t=22790 That store is actually part of a chain, and more reputable (also more expensive than little shops).
The whole subsection of that forum is dedicated to unscrupulous shops, with numerous "special mentions" going to Sin Dat Mall. A former shop owner posted, "$40000+/month for rent, gross profit per phone $30-$150". Not to mention labour costs.

Apparently "Wilson" in Mongkok sell official SE phones with a discount as well.

I want to get a T610 as well, but if they have the hissing problem still I might get a 7250 or 7250i.

How much are those phones?

Thanx
