That's exactly the same feeling I get when writing on the lower part of the screen. I notice that I am starting to write to the left of the damaged area. How long will it take for that area to feel the same ???

Almost all modern touch sensitive displays use a plastic digitiser, which are unfortunately prone to scratching. While sometimes a scratch can be caused by a stylus (sometimes as the stylus wears down, it esposes a piece of harder plastic), most scratches are caused by the stylus dragging something hard across the screen (dust can be surprisingly abrasive).

No mobile device vendor will replace a device or screen because of a scratch: It is normal wear and tear and can often be avoided simply by ensuring your screen is clean. However, since our P800s are used on the street and kept in our pockets, a screen protector makes a lot of sense.

For those that have scratches, it is possible to repair them using a CD repair kit. Simply apply some of the optical filler and buff the screen with a soft cloth. This will nicely fill the scratches.

Don't you know you should learn to practice safe phone habits... use "Protection". Then you won't have that scratchy feeling! LOL

I've had mine for nearly a week, and so far I'm trying to be real light-handed with it (no handwriting, game playing) until the Brando comes...

Looks ok so far... (is that the kiss of death?!)
