i think the t28's battery was around 3mm thick but don't you just hate it when nokia users grab your t28 and pop the battery out before going like "cool battery cover, now where did i drop the battery?"

Like i said, u shopuld read the link i posted above.It contains all the info u need and u can make up ur mind by yourself by reading that.
Other than that i am amazed how u guys worry about a damn battery as if u want ur phone to be up and runing for the rest of the Century! Get real!U won't have it in a year or two, so actually it doesn't matter if u run it flat or top it up every 2 hours! Jesus! Don't u have some REAL problems to deal with?!

First I am not trying to start a fight.. having the fact that there are still people out there asking the very same question about taking care of Li-ion/Li-poly batteries, as you see the real information is out there but it's not always an easy job to dig it out. Not all people have all day long to read all the past posts about this topic, of course a little click on the "search" button would help but as you see the forum is flooded with incorrect not to mention unuseful posts.

Alright I read your link (and thanks by the way) I figure Mr. Orang3 as well as 701 your highness are the experts out there. Then again anyone can do a search in google, copy & paste some articles and immediately he is an expert. Spare the little guy's poor soul I just got my new phone and start using this forum not long ago, how would I know who's to trust?

Probably I will have another phone after a year or 2, but while I am still using this phone, I would like to have the battery last long enough so that I won't need to charge it every day and this is one of my REAL problems I deal with.

Hi

I fly Electric planes useing li-po batterys pulling up to 80Amps (enough to start two cars at once) and they are diffrent from ni-mh and ni-cd in that way that they die if you discharge them too low (under 2.6volts) and they might catch fire if charged over 4.23volts.

the phonebattery got a buildt in safetydevice that shuts of the phone when the battery comes close to the lover voltage limit, and it also controlls charging so that it will never go over 4.2v.

li-po has no memoryeffect and do not need an "break in" first long charge as older ni-cd and ni-mh needed.

li-po charges with 1C max, so a battery in theory should be full in one hour, however you charge a li-po some kind diffrent, reduceing the current as the voltage reaches 4.2v, so the first 85% is done on 45min or so, and the final 15% takes in theory forever, but in reallity as the manual says 4 hours.

hope this helps

So is it a good idea to fully discharge the battery of a lithium polymer when you first start using it?

@Henke

Great post mate - one of the most informative and clear for a while!

At least now we know how it actually works rather than having to rely on hearsay.

Cheers!
